You should see the Six man hawaiian outrigger canoes, they are about 45'.

Usually we use trailers for those but sometimes a big truck with a contractor's rack will do. They weigh at least 400lbs.

Hey you guys should check out Jackson Kayaks. they are American made in Tennessee, and at least the whitewater kayaks are incredibly friendly designs that have helped my paddling immensely. I cant speak for the sit on top/ fishing models as i 've never tried one but i would put money on them being stellar. the JK yaks that i have been in roll, surf, and river run like a dream, and have incredible secondary stability (when youre on your edge about to tip over... whether you can brace back up or end up upside down.)

FWIW I own two JK models now and would have two more if could afford em. Eric Jackson has been a world champion freestyle and all around Kayaker since the early 90's, and the JK team are all on the podium every year, including his son and daughter.
I dont know if you can tell, but I am pretty grateful to JK cause I was mighty frustrated struggling with my last boat, and when struggling involves struggling for air, cause you're upside down in the drink, you develop strong biases....

If that is all, it shouldn't be too bad. I don't have much experience with that line though. I would also take a look at some of the ascend sit on tops.

Just picked up my first Kayak, bought a used Native Ultimate Angler 12 from some guy locally. Got a pretty sweet deal on it too.

Pumped to try it for some freshwater trout and bass before taking it in the bay for some stripers and blues

How do you like the Mad river? Was looking at one of those.
Nice! Congrats! Used is a good way to go. A lot of people go and buy them brand new and only use them a few times then let them sit in storage and end up selling cheap.

ok so my yak doesnt have a drain plug and i think it would be a great idea.....
    here is the problem.....
i have a dry bulk head in the rear with an indentation for a drain.....
that being said it is a dry compartment....hence why they didnt put the drain plug there....
and yes it is dry i filled it up with water and not a leak anywhere......
so do i chop out a lil of the bulkhead and make the dry area not so dry....and install plug there
    [IMG]

or install pulg in front of yak and leave all else be...

if you care about dry gear then put it in the front...if you don't care put it in the back and open up the bulkhead.

I put my plug in the back and put a couple holes at the top of the bulkhead so if it gets a little wet it doesn't matter. I could also care less about what gets wet.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Mine is the Enduro 12. It has two dry storage areas. One has a drain plug and the other doesn't.

    hmm
i dont know what to do what would u all do.....
the guy has the rear bulkhead sealed up so nice...i think it would be a shame to comprmise it..... "but the indent for said drain plug looks better in the back....
    but id rather not sink....
