Popping Dent on a Rear Bumper

I have a small dent, anyone have a secret to pop a ding on my chrome bumper?

 

Take it off and hit it from the other side with a rubber mallet maybe? Not sure if dents remove out of the bumpers very well if at all.

 

I'll give it a try...I'm looking at ehow on this too.

I wonder if the upside down can of air would work on that?

 

you can try use a heat gun heat it up good, than use the dust buster to spray on it, since it is cold air, metal will pop back out.
I do use this on my wife car door, it work.

It's only a few dollars to try.

To the op, there are tons of videos on it if you're not familiar with it. Just Google "dust dent fix" and you'll get shotloads of vids. There are some on here, but hundreds on youtube. It would just be faster.

 

not gonna work...... the compressed air trick may work sometimes on sheet metal dents on your body panels, but the steel in the rear bumper is much thicker. doubt a rubber malet will even take that out. try a 4lb sledge and a block of wood.

That's on a heavy bumper, it's chrome, and it's on or near the corner.

Compound curves don't generally "pop" are are hard to work with a hammer and dolly.

 

I had a similar dent (But bigger). I pounded it out with a hammer & wood but it will never look perfect. I pounded it out close, then sanded, bondo'd, sanded some more and repainted the bumper with 5 or 6 coats of spray on bedliner. It came out amazing and looks way better than the chrome ever did.

You would have no idea there was ever a dent there, even on close inspection.
