Hello TW I am new here, obviously given this is my first post. I however have a question for all the more knowledgeable than I. I have been looking at lift kits for my brand new 2012 TX Pro DCSB Taco, what I have learned so far is spacers are bad, so I have made the decision to not use those and avoid them as I would the plague.

So, I have been looking at the Bilstein kits, specifically this one: Now a friend of mine swears by a brand called Skyjacker and says I should look into getting possibly this kit:

    http://skyjacker.com/product.php?ProdID=19996

I don't know much about this brand or if its any good for the Taco, also that kit seems to be only for the rear, which I may be mistaken about, so some insight on that, if anyone knows about them, would be great.

Well thank you in advance TW for any good advice I may receive from you all.

I have never heard of Skyjacker so I would go with the Bilstein, but that's just me.

Of those two i would go with the toytec, the billies have awesome reviews on TW, i knew a guy in high school that had skyjacker on his f150 and it rode super rough and he had problems with it too, dont know if thats with all there kits or just a fluke with his.

Ok so if I go with the billies, which I had kinda thought I would end up going with. Should I get the built coil overs, or just get the strut and build it from my the current springs that are on the truck?

Straight up, Dealing with ToyTec for me is a fun expierence, The guys there are super cool, i wish you lived in colorado so you could see there cool office, its small but packed with goodies! plus theres always a couple SICK tacomas parked around you can eye at! Anyways, If you wanna save the trouble of messing with a spring compressor get them built, If anything look at the ToyTec coilover kit they sell, Little more expensive but believe it, SO WORTH IT. there ultimate lift kit is a really nice ride with the front coilovers, If you dont mind shelling out an extra 400-500 bucks over what you already will spend with the bilsteins and assembly and shipping, Look into the stage 1 ICONs. They are the cream of the crop around here when it comes to suspension. I dream of such nice suspension components!

If you're going to install the lift yourself I would suggest getting the Eibach coils preassembled if that's what you are asking. Just so you don't have to deal with compressing the coils.

You might have to consider aftermarket UCAs if you haven't thought about that already.

Good idea, I will probably take this course of action.

Yeah I had thought about this. I read somewhere that anything up to 3" the stock ones could handle, but I wasn't entirely sure. If the general consensus is the UCA's need replaced before I do this, I'll just have to hold off until I save up the extra 600 bones to get them.

Well I intend to go off road, probably couple weekends here and there, I dont know how crazy I'm going to get with it, defiantly not to crazy or hard core right off the bat, but eventually work my way up.

Check out these Get real serious and spend some cash and get a top of the line product like this: those two i think would be the best for you if you are planning on shelling out a good thousand bucks anyways man, Plus if you plan on off roading more then every weekend the ToyTec/Icons will feel amazing everyday they are put to the test.

just my two cents though, If anything man go with the 3" with bilstein coilovers for around 900ish bucks man.
