So I broke my old EVO that I had rooted shortly after purchase. I took it to the store and they replaced it through insurance. My new phone has the updated software and I can't for the life of me get it rooted again. My research hasn't gotten me too far so I am enlisting your help! What makes it difficult for me is I don't have another computer with internet to use so I must download everything on my phone and transfer to my computer if needed. Lol.
    Here is my phone info:
    Android Version
    -2.3.5
    Baseband Version
    -2.15.00.12.19
    Kernal
    -2.6.35.10_g4b48446 htc-kernel@and18-2 #1 wed dec 21 16:37:11 cst 2011
    Build Version
    -4.67.651.3 cl239674 release-keys
    Software #
    -4.67.651.3
    Browser
    -webkit/533.1
    PRI Version
    -2.33_003
    PRL Version
    -60686

I'm hoping one of you guys know the secret and can help me out. I'm dying not being rooted. That's how I get my internet. Lol
If you have the files I need or know the links please let me know! Let's figure this out!
    Thanks guys!

You have all the usb drivers and have it debug mode? Sometimes you have to have check unsigned apps from google checked also so you can get su binary.

Rooting gives you access to the kernal (linux) on the device.

You can make back ups to themes to using custom roms.

your sd card must be mounted before used and unmounted before remove. format the card.

All the drivers are installed and current, usher debugging is on, and the non market also is also on.

Unrevoked Says. Is your software too new?

Ive heard older versions of unrevoked may work but I can only find the newest one online.

Htc could have fixed the hole with the new software keeping you from getting root but i dont think so because htc has unlocked bootloaders also.

Xda might have a older version or try google you might get lucky that way for the older software.

I'm still looking for the older versions. There are other ways to do it but I don't have another computer with internet so those ways are out of the question. Like htcs unlock bootloader deal on there website. Err this is aggravating! Thanks for the info so far! Let's keep it up! Lol

There are roms that are optimized for battery life, speed, appearance, basically anything you could ever want.
My favorite app has to be WiFi tether. It let's you use your phone as a WiFi hotspot with your 3G or 4G data connection. Super fast internet even while streaming movies and downloading files.

Just a guess. On my phone, the phone's memory is an SD card as well (what the OS calls it anyway). I have to specify external SD to get it to store on the card. What might be happening is that your internal memory (SD) is getting full which is why you're getting the warning even though your external card is empty.

unrevoked is the old root tool. Not sure if it has been updated for Gingerbread or not(your outcome tells me no), but after gingerbread the evo required a new way to root. Revolutionary is the new one.

One of my favorite ROMs so far is Nitrous ROM. Others that I've ran for more than just a couple hours include Synergy, MikG, Sprint Lover's, and CM7
