Just a bunch of old crap
Anyone up to join a group of us playing some paintball on the far east side? Cross streets are Pecos and Ellsworth. There's a big dump area behind a maintenance yard that we go to that has huge piles of old construction dirt, rubble, concrete, an old boat hull, etc. It looks like an old dirt road running through a post-apocolyptic aftermath. Lots of great places to flank from both sides of the dirt road.

We start at 8:30am sharp on Saturday April 14, but plan to be there early to set up. Lots of locals play here, and we have about 20 people coming out, so it is expected to have some good action. I plan to leave from Peoria at about 6:30am so if anyone along the 101 wants to convoy out, let me know and we can meet up. I'd like to be on the field at about 8am to set up shade and get my gear ready.

If you don't have your own gear, a good place to rent gear for the day is Mesa Paintball. You can get a marker, air, ammo pod belt, etc. there for about $25. Pick it up either on Friday or Saturday AM, and bring it back to them when we're done. It's going to be hot out there, so bring a cooler of drinks and your own food and any pop-up shade you want.

We're bringing out our homemade disarmable bomb, too, to make some good scenarios and press the action.

If anyone is truly interested, I'll post more details and also PM serious inquiries with the "secret location".

You can play the role of a hostage or VIP that we have to rescue. We have an orange construction vest that is "supposed" to mean "do not shoot me" but.... accidents happen.

Bullshit. You're going to spend 4 days at Avid hovering over them, aren't you.

We had a monster turnout! Over 40 people showed up before 11am and we played for 6 hours straight. The field ended up being a beast, with an old boat hull right in the center as a perfect bomb target. The weather was nice and cool with only 5 minutes of rain total for the whole day. Here are a few pics, including some of the newest bomb:

That looks like it would have been sweet! I'll have to get some gear and come out. That bomb looks sick!

You can rent them anywhere. Mesa Paintball will rent all the gear you need (except for paint, but you can buy it there) for the whole weekend for very good prices. Many of our guys rented gear from them last year before buying their own guns and only paid $25 for Fri-Sun.
