i love the simplicity of the knobs haha.
just knowing how much compression and rebound to give is where the problem is. i don't know how a jump or whoop section should feel, all i know is if it isn't bucking me or nose diving it should be good to go lol. so i need someone to ride with me to give me tips. or someone to video me so i can look at it and go from there.
so after SDHQ get's cliff's truck good to go, we're thinking of going out on a sunday or something and tune the shockks :D
    LOL

Wow at 1100 for just an install your looking at 11 hours worth of work at 100 bucks an hour. Thats a bit much to swap upper and lowers, half shafts and slap in coilovers....

Truck does look syck but 5500 hundred for a cage. We charge 75 an hour for mig, 100 for tig (mild steel/stainless), and 125 an hour for aluminum. Did he use chrom or mild on the suspension cage? What gauge? I mean Im all for prestine work and it looks as though SDHQ does some quality stuff but they look to be a bit steep in labor cost.

If you didn already figure it out, you should be level through the woops and your rebound should be a bit lower in the rear when in comparison to the front so it doesn kick off the lip. Your compression should be set so that the body is level as the woops go under. Between my dirtcicle and the downhill I have learned quite a lot about suspension. Wouldn say Im a pro but I have rebuilt, valve shimmed my fair share of forks and shocks.

    LOL^

I understand shops want to get paid, and quality does cost over quantity but that just seems a bit high. I know steel aint cheap esp since it went up yet again.... but damn. And you name it I have done it, at the moment I work for A Little Welding. Mobile welding unit.

Almost worked on a sanctioned NHRA rail over the weekend but the owner was too cheap for the meager 300 dollars we were going to charge him to show up to his garage with the square wave and tig up his 4 slip joints. Fucker was so lazy he wanted me to weld it up without him removing his plastic tank that was sitting on the joints.....

Which part? Cuz SDHQ might demand exorbitant prices but I will not supply them with that fee. Just too steep for my liking.

But they obviously get the amount of people they need to stay in bussiness. If the prices are lower then they get more business than they can keep up with. You raise the price to a level that balances. Hence supply AND demand, so both parts

Agree'd dont construe my post in that I think SDHQ is out of line. Good for them if they are charging that much for their work. I just cant justify 8k for a bumper and a suspension cage. Esp when I have the mechanical know how to do it myself.

    Agree'd.

one thing I noticed about SDHQ is they use chromoly for everything, so just parts itself is more expensive.
