I love the look of that metal, and thats what i'd get, but if I do this I think that the next thickness up, .063, will be better. .032 is really thin for aluminum, and then its perforated like that too. I bet that stuff is really weak.
This is the one i'd get as long as 12" is wide enough http://cgi.ebay.com/3003-Hex-Perforated-Aluminum-Sheet-032-x-12-x-48_W0QQitemZ350165422471QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item350165422471&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

Great write up, I've been waiting for someone to do a write up. The truck and grill looks great! I love the look of these grills. I am going to try this over spring break, hopefully it works out. How much sheeting do you need?

If you're talking bout the stuff i used, it comes in a 10 foot roll for about 10 bucks, if you're talking about the actual grill materials, it varies. You can find some stuff cheap on ebay, or you can go to www.customcargrills.com

Well...... you were right. it's pretty flimsy, i think i will order the thicker material before i start. good thing it is cheap. I'll find something to do with it.

if its flemsy it will form to the grill contour better.....worst thing that could happen is a rock could come up and hit the metal....scratch. just spraypaint it black or w/e again.....or The other thing...it puts a whole in the grill....not like there were a 1000 already....

true but i think a rock would just go through it possibly exposing the radiator to damage. that and you can see through it too much for my liking.

true. Keep in mind, your grill will probably be there for a LONG so it may be worth it to buy something quality.

looks wonderful man. I'm digging the black grill with the black lower lip. Is that a sticker or off an xr?

what grill did you use? kinda hard to tell with all the black there.

Did you just leave the temp sensor hanging? Have you had any trouble since relocating it?

I electrical taped it in line with the horn wires so its not hanging. I have noticed it reads about 5 degrees higher. I'll get to it one day.....Just don't wanna tear apart toyotas pre made wire bunde to get it out.
