Hahahaha f that! Jason number two set up something for the same day first. @ box canyon Neither of us care where we go. He's looking for technical. I recal white tanks having spots that could be technical but wanted to get in others inputs before we decide anything. Check his thread out.

eh, still mostly 2wd friendly from the areas and trails I have been on very similar to most of the 4 peaks area. Box Canyon is a great spot if your looking for a moderate trail with a little challenge :2cents:

    How much are use permits?

thats the one turn off. Lack of time to obtain the permit. But with warning I'll get a pass.

Supposedly for Box Canyon you need a "Use Permit" - its $15 for the whole year.

    http://www.land.state.az.us/programs/natural/recreation_permit.htm

    HOWEVER

I just looked here and it does not mention needing a pass (scroll down to Box Canyon):

    http://www.azgfd.gov/outdoor_recreation/arizona_ohv_trails_places.shtml

Also, the simple fact that the Game and Fish Department mentions the Coke ovens makes me think they are not on private property.

Also, these Hummer foolz have some good pics of the place:

    http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/showthread.php?1785-AZ-Box-Canyon-and-Coke-Ovens-Sat-Feb-18

In the end though, if we want more people to be able to go, we should just stick with White Tanks for NOW and plan a 4x4 only trip to Box Canyon when more people can go.

    My $.02
