Ball Joint Problems

    Custom skid plate, rock rails, front bumper & rear bumper, pioneer head unit with 3-way pioneer components, blinker mod, Eibach coils, Bilstein 5100s, Procomp AALs, American Racing Sawblades, M/Ts, BPV Bracket, deckplate, LED Dash
    I'm having issues with my lower ball joints. I have replaced the driver side once and now its about 3 or 4 months later and its about to pop again. Is there any suggestions to permanently fix ball joint problems. I actually looked at greasable Moog ball joints. I would appreciate some help i don't want it to come apart while goin 70 and surely die on my way to work. :bananadead:

    Go with the Moog lower ball joints. I just recently replaced my lower ball joints with Moog. They hold up to a lot of abuse and the ball joints are greasable..

    Actually with mine it sounded dry and no matter which way you turn or bumped it you could hear it squeaking like a ford explorer! :rolleyes:

    Jack the front of your truck off the ground then take a crowbar and wedge it between the LCA and ball joint. If there is lots of play in the ball joint then you need new ones.

    I bought mine from an alignment shop for $110 a piece. You might be able to find them cheaper online.

    If you purchase the greasable lower ball joints be sure to buy a pack of zerk fitting because the ball joints don't come with grease fittings.

    Tacoma with some stuff melted to it
    Its a lot easier if you jack up the truck by the arm, then put the crow bar under the tire and pry up. The ball joint will lift up and down in the arm if its loose. No need to wedge anything in your $2400 LCA's


    :eek: Rock auto has them for ~$44 each

    I went wheeling last Saturday... Friday I had the truck in the alignment shop. They told me my ball joints were about to fall apart and they also showed me. I called every local toyota dealership to see if they had lower ball joints in stock unfortunately no one had any ball joints in stock so I decided I order a set through the alignment shop since the ball joints would show up in a few hours. So basically I only had a day to install those lower ball joints in order to go wheeling the next day. If I had gone wheeling without the new lower ball joints my truck would be toast. So basically I would either pay $88 for a set of ball joints and not go wheeling or pay $220 and go wheeling.
