Who would be interested in PRoflow Throttle body (NOT A THROTTLE BODY SPACER!!!) it is a 2mm over bored of the stock throttle body. I had one on my 4thgen eclipse GT 3.8L V6 added 5whp without a tune and once I got the car tuned I gained 20whp with intake, TB, and exhaust.

They are $250 and you can get them powder coated any color for and extra $70

They are great Throttle bodies it adds great whp and are not that much money. Have this paired with intake and the URD MAF calibrated you will have one hell of a truck. I just wanted to see who would be interested so I can send them a fallow up email

    Thanks

NOT A THROTTLE BODY SPACER... it bores out the inside of your throttle body to let more air into the engine

My eclipse with intake and exhaust I made 236whp after the Throttle body I made 241whp after the tune I made 256whp.

The Throttle body is bored out 2mm bigger then stock and will add alot of whp with the size of are engines. If you have an intake and exhaust it will make more whp. Proflow wants to see if there is alot of interest before they start making these.

I want to see some dyno slips. With the overboard TB only.

An overbore TB just allows more air to enter the engine them stock. By itself you will only see a small increase, probably similar to adding just a CAI. As with all engine enhancements the more air you can get in, and the easier it can get out, the more power you will make. When you compound upgrades the gains you see start to add up to more then the sum of the parts. If you already have a CAI and exhaust then you will see a small hand full more ponies from one of these.

If on a given engine, hypothetically speaking, if you saw a 20hp gain from TB, CAI, and exhaust I would expect maybe 3-4hp to be from the TB bore. TB alone maybe a couple. It isn't a supercharger. A 2mm overbore is opens the TB diameter ~1% which equates to ~5-6% more area. Wow I must be bored.

I gianed 5 more whp once I added the Proflow Thorttle body. You will get the same gains as you do fomr an intake. When paired up with the intake you will get more whp. It will giver you better gas mileage to. If paired with exhaust, intake, and the MAF you will be pretty amazed with the gains. I wouldnt be suprised that with Long tubes, Y-pipe, intake, throttle body, URD MAF (dyno tuned) I think you can see close to 300whp

these trucks come stock w/ about 209 Rwhp...it takes the trd/urd supercharger to get it to 306ish Rwhp...i dont think an intake, headers, URD MAF, y pipe, and bored tb will get u to that 300 Rwhp

I was talking about on a dynojet. I wouldnt be suprised to see some people around the 280whp range its a 4.0L V6 with a good dyno tune you'd be suprised.

So if I were too add this thing to a supercharged engine plus a few bolt-ons I would be looking at close to 400 rwhp?

    Lets see some dyno charts:
    1. completely stock truck.
    2. same truck w/ TB.
    3. TB plus CAI.
    4. TB, CAI, exhaust.

Not doubting the TB will get more flow but then it'll be on to the next bottleneck, the intake manifold has not changed & the intake ports on the head haven't changed & the cylinder bore hasn't changed. The exhaust ports on the head have not changed. So you have more air that can get to the engine faster & away from the engine faster with exhaust but not through it any faster. It's like a 8 lane freeway instead of a 6 lane & all that traffic has to pinch down to 4 lanes downtown then has 6 or 8 lanes leaving town. Shit still has the restriction in the middle that hasn't changed. Just doesn't seem worth jacking with unless everything else is done too. Maybe save it for when the intake manifold is being p&p'd & port matching done on the head, then it'd make more sense. And where is the 4 cyl love?

Unfortunately I doubt that. The highest N/A dyno I've seen is 251rwhp and 298rwtq. And that was tuned with the X-1. Highest URD MAF dyno I've seen is only 240 something rwhp and like 250-260rwtq.

Huh.. interesting... I've only dyno'd on a DynoDynamics and it was just a hair under 300rwhp (297/320). On a DynoJet, it might be close to that.

While a larger throttle body WILL provide additional gains (sometimes quite a bit). I would like to see more information. Manufacturer details, part number, specs, test results, etc. Without any of that information, you might as well be selling an eBay performance chip.

    MORE DETAILS are needed

Some food for thought. Being that this throttle body is over bored you will see VERY little gain. 1. Why? Well unless you change out the butterfly, you will still see the same CFM flow through. There have been many tests done on flow bench's proving so.
    2. Lets talk idle quality. If the overbore is not done correctly, you will have a choppy idle, or a surging idle. Is it worth maybe 5 hp?

    You make the call.

    Oh Yeah!!!
I've done Big Bore TB Mod on some 4 Bangers. Great Throttle response, not much help on 1/4 mile times:mad: And this was tested against prior consistant runs...

It was a Larger Throttle Body, with Larger Plate, nothing stock on the set. like I said, great response, but trap times were improved a tenth of a sec if any...

I've already inspected our TB, and cant seem to find any room for increase in size. Most TB's on other vehicles are in some way hour glass shaped:confused: boring them out increases volume of air flowing through, there for increasing initial throttle reaction. Not sure if our Taco's will feel this benefit??? Like I said the TB looks straight.

IMO TB upgrade is a wasted attempt for HP. Save that money and put it torward a mod that will work, ie... MAF Cali. Even a stock motor will benefit. Our trucks run Rich as hell out the factory. And Aftermarket products tend to cause the ECU to pump more fuel due to the mods...

This TB plus an MAF, then a P&P Harness, plus tuning products like an LM-2 will cost you in avg: $1100

Thats not including the Aftermarket Intake or plain ol drop in filter...

If you are gunna go that route, why not cut the hypothetical mod out and go with a currently proven product like APR X-1:cool:
