I am getting a little concerned. I contacted Demello right after I placed my order asking if they would be ready by the weekend of April 6th, and they said they thought they should be ready before that. I have been trying to contact them for the past four days and I haven't gotten a reply by either email or telephone. I hope everything is all right with them at their shop.

Just picked them up. Now for cleaning them, painting them, then carefully bringing them back to Demello for them to weld them on for me!

I decided to decline the powder coating option that Demello offers. I wanted to use spray paint so that if I get any trail damage it would be easy to touch up. Powder coating is hard to touch up without it looking like it is touched up. Now, if I scrape them up, it won't break my heart because I can easily make them look new again.

    As they came from Demello

Here are some shots to show the quality of their welds.
Look at the size of those gussets!

A Little rough slag from the welding
    [IMG]

    Wire brushed it down
    [IMG]
Actually the entire sliders got this treatment

    Looks nicer now!

Some scotch pad to rough up the surface a little more.

    Ready to paint!

They look so good even in bare metal.

Oh yeah, a rub down with acetone to prep the surface just a little more.

The paint I am going to use.

Tape off the weld areas so that Demello will have a little easier time welding these bad boys onto my truck.

First coat of primer on and starting second coat in a different color to help me keep track of where I have sprayed.

    Just about finished priming.

    Painted!

    My impromptu paint booth :)

    Me and my finished sliders
This mask may have saved my life today. If you are going to use chemicals like acetone and spray paint, I highly recommend this type of mask. I didn't smell a single fume the entire time I was painting or prepping. In the past, I would end up with a lung full of fumes and paint.
Make sure you get one that is actually rated for spray paint and other airborne chemicals. This one has two white filters, (I don't know what they are made of) and one carbon filter on each side. It was hot, but my lungs are SO happy that I wore it.

Now to wait for Wednesday when I pack them up and bring them to Jason Demello to weld onto my truck, the "White Cheddar Taco"

They are now on my truck! Just in time for the off roading trip that just got cancelled. :p

Anyway, the crew at Demello Off Road was kind enough to let me photograph the installation. Here is what I got.

    Before:

    Lining up the sliders:

Got to grind the paint off the part of the frame the sliders will be welded to:

My wife will cringe seeing this. :p She has a love affair will vehicles and hates to see the destructive part of the process.

    More grinding:

Temporary clamps to hold sliders in place for welding:

The machine! You can't weld without this, but without a skilled welder, this will do you no good.

    The welding starts:

Welding on one side while the lining up, marking, grinding and clamping happen on the other. These guys at Demello are one hell of a team and they made it look effortless.

It was tough getting photographs that showed up right. With as dark as it was under the truck and as bright as the welder was at the same time.

    I love this picture
    [IMG]

As per Demello standards, another beautiful weld.

Some paint to keep it from rusting:

    Final product:

Enough space for my wife to use it as a step up too!

Thank you so much Demello Off Road for letting me take the pictures and for making such a great product. Now it's time for some off roading!

    They are great.
Demello charges $385 for the weld on sliders and I paid another $150 for them to weld them on for me.
However, if you are selling your used sliders I do not think you will be able to ask the same amount as Demello charges for their brand new sliders.

could I ask you for a favor? Measuring from the frame, how far do they stick out? Demello said 14 1/4". Does that jive with yours?

    Thanks!

Thanks very much! Do you feel they stick out enough to protect from door dings in the parking lot but narrow enough to not affect you on the trails?

    Thanks again!

Those will be very slick when wet, so be careful with your wife using it as a step.

Your sliders look awesome, I'm glad you posted a lot of pics I'm in the mock up process right now. It's hard to tell ,are the steps at a slight angle upwards or flat , I'm going to put mine flat so wife and daughters have a easier time getting in and out and put some anti slip tape where you step to lessen chance of skint knees.
