yeah they probably wouldn't even know until it came to an inspection anyway. Does WA have emissions?

Or in Southeast ID, I think Chris said earlier that Boise is the only part of the state that does it.

Is there something about the D4D's that won't pass inspection? Or is there some other reason why they don't offer them in the US, like lack of demand maybe?

If Ford, Dodge and Chevy can pull it off I don't see why the D4D couldn't be installed in your Taco and not pass inspection unless the inspector just flipped at the fact that it wasn't the stock engine anymore.

it's lack of demand that's the only reason as far as i know. plus I'm not sure how it would do as far as emissions goes.

    Try INL next time;) ha!

I don't know what kind of storage space it takes for the fuel or however the nuclear engines work on the Carriers, but could you imagine not having to ever fuel up your vehicle? Or maybe only having to fuel it up/recharge or however that works, once a decade or 2.

I have a license from the NRC to carry radioactive material.... in very limited amounts.

the reason a reactor won't work on a car is because there is NO WAY you can carry enough water onboard to keep the reactor from over heating.

Actually it would probably be really expensive because fender bender could become completely totalled vehicles rather than just body damage and there would probably be expensive clean up costs after a reactor went bust...
