I hope I won't laugh, I'd rather fly under the radar to avoid the wrath of the D.I.'s .

"Take me to the Brig. I want to see the "real Marines". "
Major General Chesty Puller, USMC - while on a Battalion inspection.

"Come on, you sons of bitches-do you want to live forever?" (Attributed to Gunnery Sergeant Dan Daly, USMC, Belleau Wood, June 1918.)

"The deadliest weapon in the world is a MARINE and his rifle!"
    GEN. PERSHING, US.ARMY

"I want you boys to hurry up and whip these Germans so we can get out to the Pacific to kick the s**t out of the purple-pissing Japanese, before the Godda**ed MARINES get all the credit!"
Lt General George Patton, US Army 1945

    "Teufelhunde! (Devil Dogs)"
GERMAN SOLDIERS, WW1 at BELLEAU WOOD

"We have two companies of MARINES running all over this island and thousands of ARMY troops doing nothing!"
GEN. JOHN VESSEY, CHAIRMAN OF JOINT CHIEFS

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem."
    PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN, 1985

"There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and those who have met them in battle. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion." Unknown

we stole the eagle from the air force, the anchor from the navy and the rope from the army.
on the seventh day while god rested, we overran his perimeter, stole the globe and we've been running the whole show ever since.

we live like soldiers, talk like sailors, and slap the hell out of both of them.

warriors by day, lovers by night, professionals by choice, and marines by the grace of god.

The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!
Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945

Marines I see as two breeds, Rottweilers or Dobermans, because Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean. They're aggressive on the attack and tenacious on defense. They've got really short hair and they always go for the throat.
RAdm. "Jay" R. Stark, USN; 10 November 1995

The wonderful love of a beautiful maid,
The love of a staunch true man,
The love of a baby, unafraid,
    Have existed since time began.

But the greatest of loves, The quintessence of loves.
even greater than that of a mother,
Is the tender, passionate, infinite love,
of one drunken Marine for another.

    "Semper Fidelis"
    General Louis H. Wilson
    Commandant of the Marine Corps
Toast given at 203rd Marine Corps Birthday Ball
    Camp Lejueune, N.C. 1978

You cannot exaggerate about the Marines. They are convinced to the point of arrogance, that they are the most ferocious fighters on earth- and the amusing thing about it is that they are.
    Father Kevin Keaney
    1st Marine Division Chaplain
    Korean War

By their victory, the 3rd, 4th and 5th Marine Divisions and other units of the Fifth Amphibious Corps have made an accounting to their country which only history will be able to value fully. Among the Americans who served on Iwo Island, uncommon valor was a common virtue.
Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, U.S. Navy

I am convinced that there is no smarter, handier, or more adaptable body of troops in the world.
Prime Minister of Britain, Sir Winston Churchhill

Do not attack the First Marine Division. Leave the yellowlegs alone. Strike the American Army.
    Orders given to Communist troops in the Korean War;
shortly afterward, the Marines were ordered
to not wear their khaki leggings.

Every Marine is, first and foremost, a rifleman. All other conditions are secondary.
    Gen. A. M. Gray, USMC
    Commandant of the Marine Corps

SECRETARY of State Colin Powell put an Iraqi reporter in his place the other day. The scribe tried to sandbag the statesman by asking, "Isn't it true that only 13 percent of young Americans can locate Iraq on a map?" "That may be true," Powell snapped. "You're probably right. But, unfortunately for you, all 13 percent are Marines."

My rackmate was always in trouble. He was from Puerto Rico and had a last name that wouldn't fit on his blouse. I spent many nights washing the DI spit off my face. God it was so hard not to laugh. He was an idiot.

Every REAL American supports all soldiers. All of you are our heroes, not a buncha spoiled ass athletes & movie stars & singers, unless they served first. Just remind brain dead nodick asswipes like you referenced in your qoute that you are the ones giving them their freedoms & liberties & you could by God take them away right here this second if they don't shut the fuck up & step off immediately. Please, dipshits like that need constant reminders. I as a civilian would do it any time I saw it happening without hesitancy, and have before. People are just shear idiots! I applaud your fortitude to overlook the nitwits like that & still choose to serve an apparent unthankful population. They are the NOT the majority & speak for no one but themselves. Please remember every one of you is admired & appreciated.

I was never good at running. :( Eventually I got used to it I guess. In SOI we did a few cadence runs with flaks. Sappy plates (sp? lol) pushin on your chest will mess your breathin up awesomely.

    Man I miss SOI. :)
