Ive been seeing these 2012 taco around town and I cant resist I want that front end. Just seeing if any of you guys swapped them out yet. Is there already a thread? If not how much was the do it yourself cost? Where'd you buy everything? Pics?

    Thanks

I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap. You have to change the side fenders, fender flares, bumper, grill, hood, headlights, and every other front end panel in front of the front doors.

I'm sure there is someone that has done the research at the very least but I bet it isn't cheap to do!

like the others said. plus you'll probably spend more money (at least now) buying the parts and installing them than trading in you current truck and buying a new one.

maybe later down the line, when the parts become more available it would be feasable; but for now your gonna be spending some cash if you wanna do this.

If I only have to replace the grill, front bumper, and head lights it would cost me less than a grand if I find a used one maybe less and my truck will look like 12. Idk where you come from but thats a lot less than a 30+ thousand dollar truck. I just want to know if everything is the same.

The grill is slightly different so the hoods won't swap. Someone tried. Probably same thing with fenders based on the different shape of the flares and side of bumper.

    1. you wont find a used one yet.
    2. you need to replace the grille, headlights, headlight trim pieces, bumper, hood, (foglights if you wish) & assorted clips and other hardware that might be different or get destroyed in the teardown process.
    3. if you buy a new bumper from toyota, it will be unpainted plastic and be black. so, you'll probably want to paint it.

But if fenders and hood do fit by some chance. All I have to is find someone who bought an aftermarket bumper. And I paint for a business so I have a booth so thats not an issue. If they dont fit looks like Im gonna take a couple trees out next ride and get a front clip through insurance lol .

Damn ya'll are right it wont fit guess im going to have to find a wrecked one later. I just thought that pretty much everything else is the same thing toyota may have kept the hood and fenders. But if anyone has done it still feel free to post me some info I still want to do it. My buddy did a front end swap on his F250 and now he has a 7.3 that looks like a new truck.

I would just trade up. I had a 2010 and i traded mine in. Got a better interest rate, lower payment and a new truck so i cant complain. They hold their value so well youll be suprised what they give you for a trade in.

I just took my chrome grill off my 2012, and hopefully it won't be long before someone releases a bumper for the 2012, which obviously, mine will be coming off as well. Find yourself a hood and possibly some front fenders and we might have a deal =)

I know this is dead... But this has been done multiple times and is feasible for under 2000. You do not need to get new fenders, just bumper, mount equipment, grille, hood, and lights.

If you were to ever pay for a satoshi, raptor, retrofits, or upgrade to a sport hood, the cost is even smaller because you can do the same thing but for 2012. There are many threads here on it if you are still on TW...
