Hey hey, so my birthday's coming around and I think Im gonna ask for a backup cam to throw on the 08 DCLB TRD. I looked into this a little earlier and found some dude selling 2012 oem cam's in the handle with the rear view mirror for about $350 or so.
I was looking it up and accidentally found this:
    http://camera-source.com/products/toyota-oe-fit/toyota-tacoma-backup-camera-2005-2012
That's a high quality camera, in a handle, with a key lock. Looks to me like a Backup cam and Pop-n-lock all in one! Which I was feeling bad for wanting a backup cam because then I thought i wouldn't be able to get a pop n lock.

2 questions, anybody got a second opinion on this for me? and also should i get it with parking guidelines or nay?

Do you guys realize if Ryan07's truck was one year older we'd all have the exact same truck. :D

Thanks for the input, btw muiseJT, how do you like those katzkins?

I'm glad you posted this. I'm getting ready to get a back up came to hookup to a Double din aftermarket and i think this would work perfect.

    Thanks.

No prob that's what we're all here for right? A member friend of mine said there's a thread so you could install a stock cam in a pop n lock using a dremmel. Might be cheaper. Just passing along what I know. Personally Im lazy so I'll let money do the work :D

The Pop and Lock tailgate handle that can accommodate a backup camera (for 2nd gen) is the PL 5300, which is the model in the OP's post. If I were to buy the pop and lock its $50.00. What would be a good backup camera to get that fits with the Pop and Lock? I already have my truck wired to the tailgate for a backup camera (I threw away my last camera which was poor quality and wasn't waterproof.) So I don't need the whole kit in the OP.I want one that has a wide enough angle to see the corners of the bumpers, unlike my last one.

Something tells me I can spend a lot less that the OP's kit.

Reviving this thread. Anyone know where I can get a camera and wiring for a camera that fits the pop and lock handle?

A couple of years ago I put the 2015 OEM head unit in my 2007. Recently I added the Camera Source with keyed pop n lock and love it. Camera Source had everything including wiring harness to make it plug and play.

I'm about to do the same to my 07 as well! I just bought a camera-source kit, a Kenwood DMX907s, and a Datalink Maestro RR.
