that thing sounded like he glued a Kazoo to his exhaust...

I used to have a Honda CRX in college. I swapped out the engine and put a JDM B16 VTEC motor in it. I had a lightened flywheel, a DC Sports header, high flow cat, and a Thermal R&D exhaust on it. The thing REALLY sounded good. I actually had guys in Mustang GT's pull up next to me and ask me what exhaust I had on it cause it sounded wicked. It had a low deep exhaust note on it. Not like this rusty muffler with a hole in it.

CRX SiR's did have a B16 Vtec motor in them from the factory. Except for the NSX, I believe the CRX SiR was amoung the first Hondas to get a VTEC Motor. The CRX SiR was never for sale here in the US, but it was in Europe, Austrailia and Japan.

OP that's awful, you must be joking! I really feel that a truck should not sound hollow and ricey like that.

Aah yes I forgot about that one, you're correct. The OBD0 ugly stepchild you didn't want to buy by accident if you're looking for a swap because there was no knock sensor and none of the harnesses would match up. I don't even know if turboedit on a p08 would work on that engine.

I wouldn't mind a crx to tinker on with a vitara'd z6 engine in it and a t3/t4 .48ar 50 trim sitting pretty on a cast log manifold. 2200#, 1590cc single cam, 400+ whp is doable but 300 would be less likely to kill. Honestly the entire setup from car to longblock to turbo+tune could cost less than just the Tacoma's TRD supercharger kit if you know where to go... there's a reason they're popular.

I honestly dont know what your talking about with all that, not too technical myself. One thing that I ran into on a B16a1 engine was the tranny that came with it. I believe the tranny code was Y-1. The syncros are made of brass and the tranny was not availabe in the US at all, so getting replacement parts was impossible. the syncros crapped out on me. I'd get a YS-1 Tranny that was available with teh 1993 Acura Integra GSR. Very rare, but it is available in the US. I had to get an Integra LS tranny to get the car driveable again.
