i plan to unpack all my camping gear, my quad, and then detail it .... hasnt been washed in a month due to rain and lazyness, and its covered in dust due to a 2 week trip to southern nevada and az i just came back from

then look at it and cry because my most recent tank of gas cost $90 ... most ive ever paid to fill up anything on 1 try in my life

Well, I just got it Saturday so the list of what I've been doing since is somewhat long but here comes:

    Here's how it started
    IMG_20120331_170434_46b44400f1f28e6ff67c6e85cf4717c1da5f72ff.jpg

I pulled off the bug deflector as well as the window rain guards and had the side windows I windshield (80%) tinted. The windshield looks dark in this picture but it's really not in person. You almost can't tell by looking at it that it is tinted (only blocks 20% of the light as opposed to the sides that block about 82%) but it does block about 48% of the heat.
    2012-04-04%252011.40.50_e63f13fe4fb094d7b1f0cb3ff4d62e2a9aa5f73b.jpg

I then made a bracket for my radar detector to mount to the rear view mirror rather than the stupid windshield brackets. In this picture you can see inside looking out how light the tint is. You really don't even know it's there.
    2012-04-05%252015.59.39_d1d98a1259ea53908668cc8cb3856cc83794a534.jpg

Followed up by mounting the mute button in the little cubby next to the shifter
    2012-04-05%252015.58.34_660a0aa5c9eac97e6b79d4cc6fda2b1a67ade229.jpg

Then I had to cut a Homelink into the headliner since my truck didn't come with it (Really Toyota? 2010 Tacoma doesn't include something as basic as Homelink?)

Lastly for now I got my prerequisite firearm paraphernalia.

    More to come...

Sucks when its slowly turning itself loose when you are wheeling. I took it off months ago and it's still under my back seat. iPod and SAT radio FTW!

I'm using this iPad in the Tacoma for GPS + compass while the cellular, wifi and bluetooth are OFF. I use MotionX GPS HD with FREE maps I have preloaded for offline use. VERY slick!

When the iPad is in the rear seat area my son uses headphones/earbuds. When I want to listen to the audio out of the iPad or my iPod Touch 4g over the stereo AUX, I use and highly recommend the SendStation Pocket Dock with Line Out & Mini USB.

I use the steering wheel controls + XM so I never touch the radio/CD changer. I still need to take apart the dash to drill a hole (or two) for a 1" ball mount. That will let me place the ipad right in front of the factory stereo. :)
