    That's the same place I installed mine on...also last night I noticed that the switch lights up, very dim but u can see it in the dark

    So I finally sacked up and removed the latch from my slider.

    Wasn't bad at all, I just used a naked utility knife blade to GENTLY, CAREFULLY, and PATIENTLY work through the adhesive between the latch and the glass. I did not pry or use much force. DISCLAIMER: If you attempt to do this, I am not responsible if things don't work out for you and something (i.e., glass) breaks. Remove the latch at your own risk!

    End result ... gotta live with the patch of black that can't be scraped off, but still a much cleaner look IMO:

    Ben, how did removing the latch go? Did you then adjust the bracket at all so the window closes fully now? If so, how? Or can we even do that?
