The true doubles i can clear just fine.

The table top I usually have to speed up to clear so I'm nose up when I land. And since it's a flat landing that's where I break the most. I see the mods clear the whole flat area and land on the slope behind it.

The triple is tight (might be a quad...) so if I over shoot the first two crests ill hit my chassis on the third crest. If I slow down I can take it as a double double. The mods usually just clear all 4 crests and land on the back slope.

^^^ That's a nice track. It sounds like you maybe just need to set your suspension up a little stiffer and practice landing flat instead of nose up so your chassis doesn't slap the ground.

    In other news..

Let off the throttle while in the air, or the split second before leaving the face of the jump, if your nose is high. You can easily adjust your models flight path/angle while in the air (this kinda tells me you don't have much experience racing) with either brakes, makes nose dive, or throttle, makes nose rise, (not really, it makes ass end drop, but effects the same). And yes, a 1/8 buggy, or a SC truck is more robust than your model. But I still say you just need some practice.

Definitely no experience with off-road tracks or off-road racing. All my racing was on-road. I'll try working on my throttling. I also found a few suspension spec sheets for my particular track on AEs website. They are for modified but the concepts should still be the same right? That should get me a better start than whatever I'm tuned for now.

I plan on more practice. I just wanted to throw the idea of switching classes out to you guys. I figured you would know more than I about my problem and how to start fixing it. Thanks for all the info.

Did you build your model, or was it a RTR version? But yes, I think you are now approaching it correctly, just practice your throttle input and notice the effect it has while in flight, it also matters how much brake, or drag brake you have dialed in. Ask some of the other folks at your track, "most" are glad to someone new get started out on he right foot.

I built this model... about 5 years ago. Bashed it for a few months then moved. It's been in a box ever since. I rebuilt the shocks after I pulled it out of storage and that's about all the tuning I've done.

Holy schnikes!! I thought my truck was fast before I regeared. Now it's just retarded! Probably goes about 45mph now.

on another note: I need stronger turnbuckles and ballcups...

^^^You've got your stuff lookin good, man.

In other news, I've decided to go Trenchers all the way around... sorta need to get another body.. and gonna order some lunsford/rpm turnbuckles and ball cups. my rears keep popping off. (only when I jump 5-6 feet or higher and land sideways).

Trying to decide on another body... I'm sort of thinking baja bug or flo-tek..

I'm guessing your kinda rough on stuff, so, go ahead and get the HD RPM ball cups. They are pretty beefy. First pic is from left to right, factory, RPM HD short, RPM HD long, kinda hard to tell there thicker, second shows the thickness between the two.

Oh yea. I'm hard on my truck, no doubt. (Why I bought it) The stock turnbuckles and balls cups are kinda weak, though. (In the rear, anyway). The fronts are fine. The rear turnbuckles have bent, and I think all this power I'm making now has something to do with that. One side has even pretty much stripped out.

I'm thinking baja bug coated in bedliner... Any big difference between the "full-fender" and non-full fender?

I coated the inside of my bug with bed liner. helps with durability.

and heres my "full fender" bug

Non full fender looks a bit more durable. Less hanging out to the side..
