Thanks so much! And no. Not everyone does. My smart phone broke, and on my last truck the double din with GPS was stolen. So I need these directions. GOOGLE MAPS!

    Just getting started.
Somebody should check into whether or not camping is allowed at San Luis Pass. My friend went there to set up camp on friday, and said there were "no camping" signs everywhere. I've never been there so I'm not too sure...I thought I seen people camping there on my way to surfside.

I fish in San Luis Pass and I never see signs of no camping I guess it all depends which area you are at as well. I agree we'll have to double check just to be on the safe side!

If camping is an issue, and San Luis is not an option, I strongly suggest Sargent beach. I was there this weekend. There was a shooting and the cops closed and surrounded Surf side, and all I saw the whole day was 3 cars. It is a cool isolated beach with good fishing opportunities. I am not sure if people know about it, but I mention it because it would be nice to have a whole side of a beach with nothing but awesome tacos and friends.

Just a thought. Also I hear there are glowing fish there.

Sergeants like a good hour and change from slp as stated before I work for Freeport fire I was there this weekend for Surfside shooting first and foremost get all facts straight before u post pls yes there was a shooting but it was from a large group of people who are n.on locals who flooded our beach to party this party was not sanctioned by nor was it suppose to happen I personally know most of the people who worked the incident as a local I can say that this isn't something that happens often it was due to people coming outta Houston acting stupid getting drunk and starting shit and personally I think they should keep their asses off our beach!

If that's the case then technically, Galveston is not a Houston area meet either. Bryan Beach (Quintana) & Surfside are closer to me than Galveston. Sargeant is about same drive as Galveston. Matagorda isn't much further south and would be the extent of what I would consider a Houston area meet. Any further and it would be a Corpus meet, lol. Houston area meet includes anything within 100 miles in any direction of Houston proper IMO. Lake Livingston to Lufkin to Bryan to Beaumont to Schulenburg to Matagorda is all Houston area meetland.

No apology necessary & X2 on that bullshit invasion beach party yearly fucking nonsense. Nobody wants it anywhere because it never does anything but trash wherever it is and cause nothing but problems. Needs a fucking permit just like any respectable function that both patrons and community benefit from or be run off like they were...not sure how to be proactive on a drop-in rave situation like they try to be sneaky about before it actually goes down. Nobody wants their community invaded, overrun with that bullshit. No respect for people's shit should always get you fuckin run off, WTF do people expect? NO, you're not free to do whatever you want whenever and wherever you want when that infringe's on anyone else's rights, much less a shitload of other people's rights.

Sargent beach is great in my opinion. About the same distance as Matagorda
    I think.

Well I stay at 1960 and 249 I go to surfside, slp, and work my way towards the seawall over in galveston. it usually take me 1hr and 15-250 mins or so depending how fast your going as well. as for me i tend to have a heavy right foot so the needle reads 75-80. its not that bad of a drive brother, honestly! what part of town your in?
