Hmmm, only a 2000 mile drive. It would be worth it.

I was at the junk yard today and found some! Ended up just taking a matched pair of the shorter leaf in the picture, the short ones were 43" along the leaf and the long ones were 50" long and were way too long to make use of, and I think they would had been overkill. Anyway, I am going to add these to my AAL and non-TSB pack in the next few weeks. In hind sight, I think I should have taken both sets of leafs just in case, but I think these will get me what I am looking for still.

I am either going to cut down the leafs I got, or take the capture piece off of the second leaf in the factory pack, not sure which is a better idea and which is easier... Because the springs I got are too long. Ideas?

You going to the mod day tomorrow Doug? I will throw my old packs in for you if so. Went to North County Spring today to pick up some center pins and saw some springs that would give you a woodie. They were moving down the street today but Tony showed me the shop and what they were moving. They do all the work on the SDG&E trucks....crazy leafs. Saw some huge packs on the wall and asked how much they weighed and he told me that they were 500lbs and that "those are just baby leaf packs"! Stand up shop and Tony is a stand up guy. Would mos def recomend them for u-bolts, hardware, and some serious custom packs!

I did take one matching leaf from each side, I just wish I had taken 2 leafs from each pack, I had them in my hands and left the longer pair behind thinking it was way too long... Oh well, going to give this a try and I can always go back. Only paid $14 for the matched pair of 43" long leafs that I did get. If I don't get what I want out of these then I will go back and try again.

Now I need some friction pads and some new rear shocks.

Also, have you guys been finding that your rear bushings need to be replaced when you pull your leaf packs? I am wondering if mine will need to be replaced (100k miles on them) and it would be convenient to replace them when I do this.

It takes quite a bit of pounding to kill a bushing, I haven't had to change any yet thank God, they're a bitch to replace...

    Still following this thread....

Question... You guys keep referring to some of you having the "TSB". What does that refer to? I'm guessing Toyota had a Service Bulletin that replaced your springs?

    Thanks,

Yeah, the spring TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) is still in effect from Toyota & it either replaces the leaf pack with another that has an extra leaf or adds one leaf to current leaf pack......;)
