I know the TX Pro edition is maybe over value for what it is. But I'm looking at a new 2012 option but two dealers in my area say they don't find any in inventory in my area (MN).

Just wondering if they are done making them for this year? If it is a limited number? One dealer said they can't order a TX Pro from factory per se. But can try to request one with similar options. But Not sure if it will have the TX Pro decal.

If none available I may wait til 2013 and order once it's announced. There's always rumors of a resign anyways.

Anybody know of production numbers of TX Pro??

True. But easier to get it done initially right. Less hassle but I don't mind paying extra to have it all done from the onset.

Go onto to Toyota's web sight and build it with what you want. Then take it to your dealer and tell them this is what you want. If they want to sell you a truck they will do the leg work.

Their website does not give option for TX Pro anyways. I did find some on cars.com. No black ones though. But nice to see some in the wild! And price isn't too bad vs a TRD Offroad.

you can find the wheels on ebay for around 1K. "TX pro" decals look like they make your truck a Texas edition. TRD exhaust can be put on any truck easily by any dealer.
It would probably be easier and cheaper to add this stuff yourself

Yeah. That may be the way to go. I know it's the smarter way.

I talked to one dealer if it was possible to order from factory and he said it doesn't work that way. That they can request but what they get is what they get. Is that true or dealership BS? Why can't a customer order from factory specific packages? It's not like I want an ultra custom taco. Just one with certain packages that Toyota makes us buy now? Crapola.

I believe it. I mean, Toyota has a freaking manufacturing ideaology named after them. They're going to be too efficient to have specialized low-demand parts sitting around a warehouse waiting for you to order. I would assume the TX trucks are produced in a batch or batches and then they're done.

The Ted rims are not specific to tacos. Though maybe not a high demand item. Decals can't be that hard to have on hand.

I wouldn't be surprised though if they did the TX's in batches each year. Maybe if I wait to order for 2013 would be better bet of grabbing one somewhere in the country. Seems right now they prob are focused on Baja edition.

Oh well. Ted off road and add rims and decal and exhaust and be done with it. And add sliders and call it good. Oh then black out all that chrome. The list keeps adding! Love it.

    Im getting there......
Its a short shifter that a lot of x-runner owners run. And as for the comment above hell if I were going to buy a new one now and wanted one of those "special" packages i would go for the baja....

SO I am a complete lurker/Newbie here (mostly bc my TX pro wont be here till end of May) but I can tell you with some certainty they are still making them.
Dealer here in VA actually decided to order two more based on my order. While they may not WANT to (its a pricey truck to sit in inventory) they CAN. If they don't want your money, find one who does.

Or buy the OffRoad and upgrade it. I suspect you'll even save a few $$

    Odds and Ends
I lucked out, there were some San Diego County Toyota Dealers commercials a while back and one of the trucks in the commercial was a T|X Pro, the dealer kept it as a demo for a couple months until I came along. I was actually trying to fina a TRD Off Road but no luck in town and then I stumbled on this. Same as the off road with a fancy sticker. Since it was a demo they knocked off several thousand but it was still considered new. Was even the color I wanted.
