Been a busy week this week for me and mods. I've removed the sway bar, reinstalled my cb and ran a new coax to my relentless fab hood hinge antenna holder and also installed ImMrYo's rear view mirror relocation bracket. So today I finally installed the illuminated 4x4 switch made by rcbs204. Finally no more turning on the interior light to find the 4x4 switch. :D

I like it so far, a little more "in your face" than the radio antenna but over the past few days I'm not really noticing it anymore. I haven't had the antenna tuned yet so we'll see how well it works from the hood. My plan was to mount the antenna to my new ATO bumper when I pick it up in June.

    Here's a pic,
    [IMG]

On a side note, the whip is a little too tall to drive right into the garage so I leave it off for the most part. I'm gonna talk to guy at the cb shop and see if it would be ok to cut 4" off the antenna itself.

It wont' be, they're tuned by lenght with an adjustment at the top for fine tuning. Length is absolutely critical for your SWR reading.

Dropped it off at the stealership for my 20K oil change (free under the 25K service plan thing). Also having them look into my "chirping" AC / Heater fan. Also talked to them about checking my speedometer. I know that it is off by at least 3 MPH. I have checked it against 3 GPS's, had a few people follow me and check my speed, those MPH speed limit signs that show your speed, and my neighbors radar gun (he's a cop). Everything says that my speedo is off by at least 3MPH. Everything on the truck is stock, so it's nothing that I have do to mess with the speedo. We'll see how everything goes when I pick it up tomorrow.

Thanks for posting this. I was considering one of those expensive mirror mounts too. I don't like using a suction cup at all.

Got home and stole the reflector off my wifes cruiser bike. It fit perfect. Fab'd up a small bracket. Just need to paint and hardwire it.

Plan on mounting the remote in this spot like I had it on my FJ.

    No, it would not.

Shorter whips have more wire coiled around the shaft.
