Rear suspension (5LUG). How to achieve 3-4'' of additional lift.

There's a new spindle lift for the 2nd generation 5 lugs. It will achieve 3-4'' if Im correct on the front end. I'm looking for what to do in order to make the truck sit level, therefore I need to know what options there are for my rear end suspension.

 

Inverted shackles, re-arched springs....

3-4" lift on the front, so 2-3" on the rear will level it nicely.

 

why don't you just use leaf pack made for the 6 lug trucks? shouldn't it be able to give you that kind of amount of lift?

 

6-lug leafs actually give you about 1 to 1.5" of DROP!

6 lug trucks are SOA, 5 lug are SUA.
That's about a 5-6" difference in spring position, but there's only about 3-4" difference in the height of the trucks

 

I have my stock leaf pack with one aal. I was thinking about doing this method on the icon leaf pack because I heard they give a better ride. Should o just stick with what I have?

 

it's actually closer to 1.75" i have 6 lug leafs on my truck...

Oh ya... by going with 6-lug springs with a higher arch, you can certainly put a 5-lug pretty much wherever you'd want it, especially within the 3-4" that this new spindle lift gets you.

I thought you knew about the 6-lug springs being shorter, but wasn't sure.

 

My buddy has his stock 6 lug springs. Ill see if I cant use them to play around with.

 

It's gonna lower the rear... especially if you're running an AAL on your stock pack. Major Cali-Lean/Carolina Squat.

 

what if I use a shackle flip kit and I arc the springs on the 6 lug leaf pack?

 

Shackle flip will give you lift. In that case, the 6-lug springs might get you close to what you want. The 5-6 lug spring change will drop you 1.5 or more (way more with the AAL on your stock springs), but I would imagine the shackle flip will gain 6 or more.

May end up being too tall with only 3-4 up front.

 

Really! I figured it would be way more than that.

 

Here's what I've gathered as a good combo, maybe....

2. Ill take the aal off my pack now and add it to the ICON leaf pack.
3. Ill get the leaves arced a little more by a suspension shop.
4. Apply the shackle flip kit.

WILL THIS WORK?! lol

 

your only options are:

Rear LT 4-6" of lift with a 50T pack
Convert to leaf over axle.. (ghey)
Shackle flip (I am having a 2" lift shackle made for me) wait until its made and order one.

 

Whats wrong with icons arced with an aal?
