Well after 2,500 miles since day one my damn 2012 Tacoma's steering wheel is cocked to the left while driving straight and true down a level flat road. Thought it was just me imagining things/ or the interstates slope I was driving home from the dealership on had something to do with it. Its brand new no mods done to it. I guess ill be paying the local dealership a visit in the morning and also gonna try and address the 3 leaf packs in the rear as well and get the TSB done. I guess the guy installing the steering wheel was more concerned about getting off that Friday afternoon than making sure the freakin steering wheel was put on the correct way.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a pretty easy fix for the dealership to perform? ( Remove/Reinstall steering wheel)? or could it be an alignment issue?

How many degrees off is the steering wheel from center?

The dealerships I talk to say its a fairly common problem with the tacomas they see in among other issues they are brought in for, it should be a minor fix, my roommates was the same way(2012 access cab prerunner).

My frontier was the exact same, a little less. I took it in for my free oil change and had them fix it. Took 30 mins for oil change and fix. The problem for both my roommate and I was that it was not aligned properly at the factory, they gave both of us sheets showing the before and afters.

It bothered me enough to bring it up as well as my roommate(his taco), might as well get it fixed since its free.

If you talk them into the springs it gets an alignment just make sure the wheel is correct when you pick it up.

Same issue when I picked mine up. Brought it back, and they put it on the rack with no hassle.

Yup, mine was off center when I took delivery also. They adjusted it as part of warranty. Just make sure they adjust it at the steering arms, not by removing the wheel and moving it over 1 or 2 splines.

Had this happen to my 2011 when I got it. Dealer said that most of the vehicles were out of alignment when they arrived. Byproduct of mass production. He said that it was the dealers responsibility to align the new cars when they came in. Fixed it free of charge, and has also checked the alignment at 5k and 10k free of charge "for my peace of mind"

Hey fellas... man am I glad I found this thread. I just got my truck back from getting the driveline TSB done. I didnt notice my steering wheel was at about 10 or 11 o'clock position while driving strait until I was on the interstate headed home. I just thought I had like a side wind or somthin. I knew they had put in the steering dampener, so I thought they had taken the wheel off and didnt put it back on strait. So i moved it to the right one spline, then it was too far to the right. Then I looked closely and figured out they shouldn't have removed the wheel to install the dampener. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my steering wheel would be off center after having the TSB done. I thought maybe when they were driving it, they hit a curb or something and now the alignment is off. I didnt know they have to align it after doing the TSB. I am gonna call them in the AM to let them know. Thanks guys!
