Just curious who has a 2012 out there? Any issues, concerns so far?

I picked up a '12 double cab TRD Sport about three weeks ago. So far, love it. Started to noticed a few things I hadn't before. AC kicks on and drags the engine ever so slightly. Other vehicles I had the AC kills the engine...load <ching> when the compressor starts. I've also noticed if I back up a bit then head out the brakes seem to <click> wondering if that's just a systems check of sorts.

I took the radio antenna off and put an exact size bolt to cover the hole. This is so I don't get it torn off in the automated carwash. I usually never run the radio just XM and my iPod.

I did a fair amount of highway driving this weekend, put about 300 miles on it in heavy wind, up to about 7000 feet from 4200 and back and averaged 21mpg. I'm happy with that.

Starting to do some minor mods. Got some bike mounts installed and am ordering a few Rotopax items in the near future and a cargo mat.

The "chrome clad" covers are coming off at the next oil change. I've read that the Bridgestone Dueler HTs don't last very long. Seem to be heavy wear tires from what I've read and to "expect to replace them in two years."

Abs self check for the brakes. The oem tires suck. Sell them and move on.

Do the leaf packs need to be replaced on the 2012 like the ones in the previous years?

I would never go through an automated car wash with my truck, but that's just me.

Ditto. I'm ok with touch less when necessary and I like the underbody spray, but never the cloth drive throughs. Eek :()

I've got about 5200 miles on my '12 DCSB Offroad, been very good so far! Best mileage has been 20.9mpg, worst has been 17.8. I like the sound of the Entune, the nav system and voice activated controls for the phone work OK (not great) - probably would not pay the upgrade price if I had it to do again. The Rugged Fails are doing OK for the time being, I'm trying to tolerate them for a while longer - I don't think I'm gonna get enough money from selling them to justify selling 'em.

some do, some don't as near as I can tell from the different posts- all 12 Sports (4x4) get the four leaf, all 12 OR get the three leaf, the SR5's seem to be a mixed bag- some get four, others have got 3??????????

:) The only concern I found on my AC was the horn. The base horn on my Miata was louder than the stock horn. A little research reading on the forum came up with the solution of removing the metal plate that covers the horn outlet and choaks it. No concern about my Taco now.

I just got my '12 tacoma sport about a month or so ago and haven't had any problems at all. Ive put 700 miles on it so far and it runs perfectly, i also put a 3" lift and new wheels and tires too.

debatable topic there.... most will say the Goodyear Duratrac, the Bfg AT TKO, Nitto Terra-Grapplers, or Hankook Dynapro ATM.

Personally i have never driven the Hankook, or Duratrac, but if i were in your shoes, i would try them over the others. I has Nitto's on my tundra, owned my tundra for a year, and wore them pretty bad... As for the TKO's, they are a fantastic tire, until you get around half tread, then they are worthless. It all just depends...

^ good question, there is a thread floating around where 12 folks are posting what they got for rear leafs- w/ the exception of the 12 Sport 4x4 (4 pack) and the OR (3 pack), the others seem to be hit and miss

evidently there have been a few 12 guys who have already got their dealers to replace the 3 pack w/ 4 (maybe they are simply adding a single leaf vs entire pack?)

I believe they replace the entire leaf pack; not that it matters I'm sure.

I got my SR5 about 2 weeks ago and the only complaint I have is the front seats, it would be better if the lower part of the seat could be adjusted so you could have your knees higher. (hope that makes sense) Other than that and the fact I hate the steel wheels on it, everything is great.
