Was at the park today, and as this little girl leaving she was playing with her little stupid kite right in front of my truck. I hear her parent say don't hit that truck so I look over and her kite is going kamikaze on the hood of my truck.
After they left, I went to examine my truck, and found that she chip the edge of my hood down to the metal. F***. Is this going to rust?

Yes, it will likely rust. Thank the EPA and corporate cost saving measures for your base coat/clear coat instead of having several layers of paint. You can get a small bottle of touch up paint from your dealer if your truck didn't come with one.

I would say yes. I had a freak softball over the fence land directly on the lip of my tailgate. It left a nice dent and the paint cracked. This was about three weeks ago. Im pretty sure its already starting to rust. I would get it fixed asap, especially in the wet ass bay area!

Don't blame the kid, blame the idiotic parents who let their kids do stupid shit. That would piss me off too. Some parents should be required to take a class, or an IQ test before they procreate.

Find the parents and throw a kite at their cars

Seriously though, it will rust. I have a few little dings like that on my truck in various places, all of them have rust or are developing rust.

Really guys???? It's just a chip in the paint.

Get yourself some touch up paint, fix it, keep a coat of wax on it, it won't rust or don't and maybe it will....

My truck is less than 6 months old, never been hit by a kite and I've still touched up 5 chips on the leading edges of the hood and "A" pillars. Mine is just road rash and it's going to happen.

I wouldn't be mad if the chip was from daily driving and what not. This is someone damaging your brand new truck right in front of you. I bet you would be mad too. Luckily this was the only spot that chipped. Her kite hit my truck multiple times before her mom pulled her away.

Negative. You would be wrong if you assumed (while not with a kite) something similar has not happened to me. Believe it or not, some things are more meaningful then my truck.

I don't think you get it, this thread is a matter of respecting one's property. You can't stop road rash, but you can stop your child from repeatedly hitting someone's vehicle..

I did not see it coming, I was playing football and they were leaving. The cars are parked about 15 feet from where I was standing. When I heard the dad say don't hit that truck, that's when I looked over, and it was too late. I could hear the dings loud and clear. When they realized it was my truck, that's when the mom took the kite away.
