Truck not sitting level

Something I noticed today on my 2012 Tacoma DCLB.
Looking at the back of the truck it looked like it was sitting unlevel. So I checked the tire pressures. They were all 32PSI. Next I measured from the fender well to the garage floor and this is what I got.
Front Driver Side - 34.5
Front Passenger Side - 35.125
Back Driver Side - 37.125
Back Passenger Side - 37.562
So, front is unlevel by .625 and back is unlevel by .437
I know it doesn't sound like much but it is very noticeable when looking at the truck.
Has anyone else noticed this in their truck.

 

Yep. It's called the Tacoma lean.

Would be interesting to see if the RHD models lean the other way.
I suspect it is intentional due to the crown in the road.

My '06 Silverado 2500 was the same way... took an extra crank on the TR to level the driver's side vs passenger.

The taco lean? Yes.. I'm guessing 50% of tacos have it.

 

I've read its due to the driver, gas tank, battery, steering, etc., all being on the same side. The trucks are based off the Hilux which has the diver on the opposite side. So half of that weight is on the other side, balancing the truck. When they moved it for Americans they didn't think about that.

 

These are the best trucks on the market and destroy everything in their class, but theyre not perfect.

 

Well, I may be pissing in the wind but I'm headed to the dealer to complain about it. I have to go there anyway to get them to repair some trim moulding on the lower part of the windshield. So we will see.

 

Seems acceptable to me. I can come up with way bigger gripes.

 

Its really not that big of a deal.... but thats just me. They do sell a spacer to correct it if it bothers you that much...

 

didnt you notice it when you purchased it? i think all trucks come out of the factory... like someone else said "i think i could find better things to bitch about"

I'm a tooling engineer in the automotive industry and I know how much tighter the tolerances are on the Toyotas, Nissans, and Hondas. I was just surprised when I looked and could visually see the lean. It may be something I have to accept, but when I pay $30,000+ for a truck I expect it to be held to a certain standard. There is a Suzuki truck that sits across the street from me and it sit visually level.
If this is all I have to bitch about on the truck then that is great. The way I look at it, the better something is built, the more you scrutinize it.

Toytec has a $15 1/4" spacer to correct the lean.

 

Date only hefty women. It will level out quickly.
