I wouldn't mind if family/close friends dented or dinged my truck. It is a truck and damage happens. I would be upset if someone else causes damage and doesn't try to fix the problem.

OP, you should have talked to the parents about fixing the ding. Your fault for not trying to work it out with them.

    Derpy Derek,

No, I promise you, I get it and think I could make a pretty good argument that I'm not the one missing the intent of others post (in this case, my post seems to be the one being misunderstood). I will explain my perspective in a little more detail and attempt to provide my frame of reference. Using the quote below (just because) as my example and sure not singling him/her out.

After really looking at the pic (and I'll admit, it is hard to tell the size & scale) the chip looks to be just that, a chip, really not that big. For the tone of the thread to take on a "fuck kids" theme over something so small regardless of the point (damage to someones property / respect for others property) to me, is an over reaction. But then I'm older then you (if your profile is true) and have fought for the life of my own child who was diagnosed with a terminal illness. In my case, it sure did soften my view of what is and what is not important. I promise you, regardless of the damage done to my truck by a child, I will never say "fuck kids".

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
I just blame Toyota for their paint quality (lack of that is). Its definitely a issue. Touch it up and you should be fine.

Take it as a sign...life thinks the color of your truck needs to change(to rust) or maybe it's not that deep...maybe you just own a truck and shit happens

So if I'm tracking this thread correctly, the OP will chime back in and describe the events that transpired again. Right?

I find it unreal that this thread exists. I actually thought it was a joke at first. Your hood got chipped by a kite, dude. It seems to me that you've had life pretty easy thus far if this is the biggest shit ever to you.

I didn't say anything because she was just a little girl and her parents took her out on Easter to play in the park

I park far away from danger too but when the area is that, its impossible. People could be playing right up the the edge of the cars. They were getting in the car but she was still fussing around with the kite, that's how she ended playing right in front of my truck.

I'm not mad at the girl or the parents. I was just sharing my truck's first boo boo and letting out a loud F***.

+1 to you OP for not being mad at little kids. The first ding/dent I've heard is the hardest. Buying used ftw

Seriously, it will probably rust but a little rust won't kill anything. Go wheel your truck and then say that the damage came from off-roading.

I don't get why you're attacking me for. I was just sharing what happened and asked if it will rust. I don't control what others post.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, I was a little too quick to judge your post without considering why you have a different view on this matter than myself.

I'm impressed, really. In my experience not a lot of people would admit they may not have considered another persons view (not that they have to agree).

Kudos to you. I have two boys and if this were one of mine. You would be worrying about more than a chip , they are rough boys, . My gosh.. I had my truck two weeks and totalled the tailgate and bumper.. my own fault. but shit happens. We were all kid once.

I used a dupicolor pen. It's not pretty but I guess it won't rust now. Rain is forecasted for this whole coming week.
