I know, it sounds crazy. I've been plasti-dipping stuff for years now with great success and recently had an idea to spray an entire car. This was a while back and I decided to do some Googling and was surprised to find a guy with a website devoted entirely to spraying your car. It's called dipyourcar.com and has some pretty interesting stuff. It actually looks a LOT easier than I would have though and I even learned I was taping stuff off WAY too much before dipping them. He even did his entire Audi S4 & it looks pretty darn sweet. If I did it I don't think I would do the wheels because it's a bit much if you do it all. Either way, if I hate it I can undo it in a matter of minutes and am only out like $100 and an afternoon in the sun. I think this truck is the perfect candidate since I already had a Toyota truck this color. Not that it's a bad color but the flat black would look cool. I may decide to not even do it though since it's a truck I will be using for work purposes.

No sir. I'm using this truck for daily work stuffs so a lift to me means lower mpg and harder to get stuff in and out of the rear. I know not huge deals but since I don't drive in the hills I wouldn't get the use out of a lift anyway.

Well they're inexpensive and are handy in the winter time if you haven't had one. Not necessarily because the engine won't start otherwise since it doesn't get that cold in Colorado but it makes for easier start-ups which will prolong the life of your battery. With the rising price of car batteries anything you can do to extend their life is a good thing. Also, having your water come up to temp quicker is nice in the winter because your heater start blowing hot air almost immediately. It's a pretty decent mod actually for what it costs and how easy it is to do. Being able to put 'engine block heater' in a list of options when you sell it helps too because you'd be amazed how many older guys look for stuff like that. What, did I just date myself with that statement? :D

I should be getting the runner back sometime this week. Still need to transfer the interior stuff and electrical stuff in. I may ask for some assistance with the transferring of the conponets because I'm not good with that shit and I'll Fawk it up.

got my led rock light strip installed today...pics later when it gets dark...still have some work to do til i'm done with the light setup though..need my bumper on to wrap things up there

also got my ammo cans up on the rails and got some extra stickers thrown around the bed...cans help to keep some things out of the tool box like my tie downs and tow straps..

That Audi looks awesome. You should def move that up on the list and dip it next. I would be very curious to see that in person.
Or Devin should jump on the idea and get it done. However I am on his side with the flat black look. Considering the flat black for the crawler. Already have some flat back repair spots so might as well just complete the look.

Question I have is durability. If its like a rubber that you can peal off if you don't like it then how will it hold up on the trail. Not sure if you have to worry about that, could be wrong. But wondering if it would be immune to the famous Colorado pin stripping or it it would start pealing or gouge from branches or rocks.

Also seems like it would be a thicker paint. If that is so, seems like repairing a deep scratch would be hard to blend. Is that true?

Yeah, it ends up being pretty thick but it's also very durable. My guess is you wouldn't see damage from lighter surface type scratches that you would get from paint. You can't really blend (I don't think) but you can tear it off of a panel and paint it over again which wouldn't take too long and would certainly be much more affordable of a repair then having a shop repair a fender each time, ya know?

No, I couldn't and wouldn't. Going flat black is kind of the anti... this truck.
