need alignment?

So from my understanding I have heard that for everything I do to my suspension I need an alignment. If I install a 2" lift to my front and a ADD a leaf to the rear do I need a re alignment?

 

anytime you change the front you need a re-alignment.

Rear doesn't matter.

 

Alright that's what I heard. Just someone local said if it's under 2" I don't need one. Haha o well. How Micy is a realignment

Just had mine done after new ball joint. Was actually off quite a bit. Gets it almost perfect. The best ones are the ones where they attach the camera to the hub and align it that way rather then from the size of the wheels. Was about $100, or a hour labour.

parents live in Cambria. Don't know where you take your truck, but the little auto shop in cambria down in "tin city" is a great guy. Very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and FAIR. That guy was great! as soon as i bought my truck and took my old car to get a quick check up before we sold it he asked me to bring it in just to look at it and see if it needed anything (not to charge me but just to bask in tacoma glory and help me out).
but im sure there are some garages down in SLO that would do it for a little cheaper than a hundred. Cheapest ive seen so far is 79...

 

If there's a firestone nearby they offer a lifetime alignment as long as you own the truck and I've used it extensively since it was only 150 I've definitely got that much and more out of considering how many times I've changed shit and usually after I did any hard wheeling

 

Yeah I live in cayucos! I might make the drive up to cambria then and see that guy. I'm not sure if there's a Firestone, I'll check on the internet

Front will need aligned. Rear isn't "really" adjustable.

If you change the front you more than likely should get an alignment.

If you change the rear it's less important IMO, but it still will change angles so you might want to get an alignment again.

quick note... not sure if the guy in cambria has the machine to do the alignment... :/ but! they guy is great haha. so anything else you may want to try him out for, or at least give him a call to see if he has one or knows a good place to go

 

Raising the rear only affects caster angles. The camber and toe are unaffected.

Firestone lifetime alignment= good deal.
