If you are interested in a head lamp this is what I have used for cross country skiing in the dark, once saw a group of 50-75 moose with it. That was the weirdest thing ever...

I love it when working on vehicle at night, snowcaving, running, camping, etc

I got some at a used gear sale for $10 (as opposed to like $80 new). I wouldn't wear them every day, or for a long hike, but for little scrambles they're fine. It's nice when there's a little tiny toe hole that is your only foot hold and you can put two toes in instead of being stuck with a normal shoe that won't fit. I haven't used them that much though.

Lemme know if you end up heading out to the REI sometime, I might be interested in tagging along.

I saved my 20% discount to buy a Thule rack for the truck! :D

For less than $100 I would go for a nice LED headlamp or a water purifier like it was suggested above. They also have nice dry bags that can be useful to toss stuff in the bed of the truck in bad weather. Or a Leatherman multitool to keep in the truck, or a pocket knife (can never have enough!)

ya i have have a dry bag, a few leathermans.. and a head lamp.. but my headlamp is pretty old... So maybe ill go for that. I was also thinking a nicer pair of sunglasses instead of my 20 buck cheapo ones that i destroy every couple of months.

Get a new pair of polarized glasses and use that fancy sunglasses holder in the Taco!
