NorthWest MOAB 2012 Team

I'm leaving sunday.... i have to get in to town before tuesday... Therefore i must be back on monday. I have 48 hours once i leave moab to return to spokane even if i have to leave my truck in SLC and fly back and go get my truck after school is out.

 

i guess you could always hang out in boise till monday morning, same thing as going down, just the other way

Yup. Same for us. No wheeling on Sunday. Pack everything up and we are outa there. Hopefully on the road no later than 10.

We are planning to stay in Boise on Sunday evening. Its pretty close to the half way point mileage wise for us.

Yup. Back to work on Tuesday for Mark. I may sleep in on Tuesday and go in half day.

What's up with Kane Creek? Think its as bad as that guy made it out to be? Any 2012 ejs reports on Kane?

 

Me and another made it through pretty easy both 2nd gen trd e-lockers on 33s. Josh had stock f/r bumpers and sliders. I had plate front stock rear and sliders.

I made it pretty easily (I drove a little more aggressively) and Josh had a little trouble on the first obstacle. You might have to winch through it if you're open open. Or a lot of rock stacking.

The rest wasn't too bad, pick lines and have someone spot you through. It's a great trail and lots of fun. I think you'll have no problems.

Yeah. Took Josh a few tries to get his driver front up and over the rock. It took me a couple times but I finally had to just kind of pop it over and power through.

Josh was worried he was going to bash his door so he was a little hesitant and less agressive.

The "rock garden" wasn't really bad IMO. I walked it with Josh, we picked my lines, then he spotted me through, I chose easy lines, easy peasy. Some of the drivers in other videos chose harder lines. Josh did the same he just had difficulty with the clutch control and there was a bit of revving and jerking as he climbed his way up.

Autos will have an easier time in Moab for sure. Manuals better know how to work their clutches.

 

I'm not afraid to power through something I'm more concerned that I'll fry my clutch.

It looks close but there was a good foot on the side. I'd have someone locked with a winch go through first so they can pull you up if you can't make it.

Think that jeep took a lot of the same lines we did, as you can see he went up very few major ledges.

 

Man, you need to come with us.

If you can get as far as winnemucca you can hookup yo the back of the trailer. I'm fairly certain the tundra can tow both of our rigs.

Here is the comment that made me wonder. True, he doesn't say which obsticle was the problem. I just assumed it was the that ledge on the last hill, the one with the drop off to the left.

 

There is that, you can run pretty close to the edge but theres also the very beginning, you can either go through the wash, pretty rough, or you can go around it but it's a bit off camber and pretty damn close to the edge.
