I never go anywhere without a bandanna -- it's one of the handiest things you can carry. Things I've used a bandanna for: emergency oil and gas cap, toilet paper, headband, dust mask, water filter, gas filter, shop towel, critter cage, long load warning flag, bandage, tourniquet, tie down, fire starter (it was the line for a bow drill), torch (plus a stick and some oil), splint tie, arm sling, rope throwing weight (with a rock in it), clothing patch material, emergency sock, fish stringer, muzzle-loading and gun cleaning patches, eyeglasses holder, cooling rag for my neck, red "don't shoot at me" flag for my hat when I was trapping during hunting season once, neck shade for a baseball cap.
