The 3 leaf pack will be softer and more flexible... better for offroading.

The 4 leaf pack will be stiffer and stronger... better for hauling or towing.

On that note, does anyone know if the Off-Roads still come with a softer sway bar than the Sport? I haven't seen it in mentioned in the current advertising literature.

I've got the 4 leaf pack on my 2012 Sport Upgrade (not 4x4).

Don't love the Dunlops or the chrome clad wheels (don't hate that it's chrome, don't like the fact its plastic), trying to figure out if it's worth getting rid of or keeping - had I thought about it more I probably would have had the dealer swap them out with something else. I'd like a beefier tire too, but don't want to rub or trim or any of that.

I love it though. I get ~20mpg on the highway, and ~13-14 city, which is fine. Put the tires at ~33psi and it's a bit rough, but it's a truck and that's fine too.

The blower rattles when it's on high speed, took it to the dealer 2x to fix and it's still doing it, now I'm waiting for my 5k check to have it looked at. Also, the dealer must have unhooked my FM radio when trying to fix it at one point, my XM ran out last week and I found that I don't get any FM reception - made me re-up my XM that much faster...

Tires are crap. After 4,600 miles at dealer they measured rears at 7/32" that less then half when new.

Okay folks some input in the thread to my inquiry. Sounds like the Nitto Terra-Grapplers are pretty good and folks are happy with them. One more question. I have 18" wheels, would you all recommend the tread with those or going to a smaller wheel size and if so what?

The antennas stand up well with automated carwashes. Never had a problem. I had a 2005 that went through 50 + times and never had a problem. My 2011 has the same antenna & no issues. Along with the XM magnet on my roof.

Same size wheel would be fine. If you don't offroad then I recommend the Nitto NT420 tires. Excellent tire & I get between 65,000 & 75,000 miles out of them. Excellent wet & dry traction. I drive my truck like I stole it.

I've had my 12 TRD Sport for 4 months and I am loving it! One of the many things that sold me on the Tacoma was my Uncle's 24 year old Toyota pickup that he still drives. It has some of the original belts and hoses on it. He still drives that thing like he stole it too.

Anyway, I really don't have any gripes with my truck so far. Definitely not a fan of the tires that came on it but I figure I will use them till they wear out and then get something better. I think I will probably go with some Michelin LTX A/T 2's. I like the BFG AT T/A KO's but I can't justify the extra cost in my head.

The one thing I was most impressed with was the ride quality. I wasn't expecting it to ride so smooooth. Feel like I am in a caddy with big tires... :p

Good trucks! I had a 2005 with 173,600 miles at trade in . Only repairs were factory battery @ 5years, Universal joint @ 120,000 miles($130 local shop), & a wheel bearing @ 160,000 miles ($160(Detroit axle on ebay + local shop for install)).

    That is impressive!:woot:

I definitely bought my truck with the intention of driving it until it just can't go anymore. It is actually one of the factors that got my wife more onboard about buying it.

I've had my '12 TRD OR DCSB for about a month, no complaints at all so far. Then again I had been driving a car for the last 4yrs before the truck and just driving a truck again is incredible. Handles well in the mud so i'm happy

I've had my '12 DCSB Off Road for almost 3 months now, got about 3,500 miles on it and am lovin it! As for the antenna going through the car wash.....mine came with an antenna wrench in the glove box, so i just use it to take antenna off when going through a carwash, which isn't much

I've had my 12 Sport upgrade for about a month now. Coming from a 03 F250 this truck is so smooth, and the savings in gas is paying for the payment!!
I hated the plastic covers when I test drove the truck and they wouldn't swap so I'll grin and bear it until I have to get new ones, or strip them down to the aluminum. Wishing it had leather, heated seats and mirrors and the mpg but not that big a deal. One slight regret is not waiting for the long bed but I wanted out of the Ford before it blew another plug. I see a Soft top, some kind of brush guard, Husky liners, bed mat, Granite Alloys with BFG AT's, and some seat covers and a roof cage rack in the near future. The only concern I have is the day I hook on to my 19' Four Winns boat. Anyone have any problems towing? I may need to tow a 12' cargo trailer if things pick back up in construction as well.

Get some 16s. Tires in the future will be cheaper, and they look better on our smallish trucks.

Also, my suggestion for tire is the Yokohama Geolander ATS. Awesome tire. I've had em on about 15000 miles and they look brand new. Super quiet on road and perform really really well offroad.

had my 2012 for about 2 months now and love it. has about 1300 miles on it. I have not had the opportunity to use 4wd or tow anything yet.

    only complaints are:
-when you turn the temp dial all the way down to cold, it turns the AC on.
    -DRLs, was a factory option.
-rear view mirror is perfectly in the way of my line of sight
-sags a bit when you are hauling something heavy (4 spring pack here), i will most likely put in an add-a-leaf kit.

Hey Shifty, let me know when you do add a leaf I'd love to know the details on installation and outcome.
