    i want to know if people have had success taking their mirrors off and painting them, rather than doing the vinyl wrap.

    Look for salvage sport model mirrors. They are already painted.

    X2 but I colored matched and clear coated mine including the handles and bumper :D it's been like 4 months and they are holding strong :D
