I haven't geared yet. It's gonna be Nitros when it does happen. After researching and talking with ECGS, I'm not really willing to consider other brands.

I'd keep the e-locker in the rear until you have a reason not to.

Mainly due to reputation and the thick cut makes the gears stronger. Less chance of having a blown third like John

Wait when did he do that? Was he running stock gears or aftermarket?

March '11, stock gears. Wheelin' will do that sometimes.

Nitro is preferred because they are the highest quality aftermarket gears available for Tacomas right now. Yukon isn't bad by any means. The main gain by going to aftermarket gears is they're a bit thicker cut than the stock stuff and hold up a little better.

ECGS is who I am going to have install it all, I want the warranty with it.

After john's rear-end took a dump, with in I think 2 months 3 others did. I figure I will save the factory gears as a just spare for myself or some unlucky soul on the trail. The elocker has been doing just fine once it started to actually lock up, so I figure leave it too.

I keep reading posts on different forums about people wheeling in Cullowhee but I have yet to find any places to wheel. If anyone has heard of any specific places in Cullowhee please let me know. Thinking about riding out to Hurricane Creek Rd sometime this week just for shits and giggles if anyone wants to go.

EDIT: If anyone has any clue how to unlock/get off a locking lug nut without a key that information would also be very helpful.

Socket just slightly bigger than the lug nut, like tight enough that it won't go on with out some hammer time, bang it on the lug nut, pull it loose.

I just watched a YouTube video that used this method. Seems like a pretty effective method. I am hesitant to wheel too much on BFG A/T without being able to get the spare off. When I asked the guy if he had a key to the spare tire he brought out a hug box full of keys that he didn't know went to what. I had to go to my local muffler guy to get the hitch lock taken off because it was so rusted out the key just spun around in the lock.

That method worked for me when I had to get the wheel off my grandmothers car. Also you won't get stuck much on BFG's I love the one's on the Silverado.

It's not the getting stuck part its more of a tire popping and the spare being locked thing lol.

I have a silver tool box up for sale. $150 and its yours. I'll even help with the install. If anyone is interested PM me. It does lock but I lost the key when I totaled my truck. I am sure you can get another key made.

EDIT: I also have WeatherTech floor mats front and back for a DC. They are black. Also $150. I also have bed cleats for sale. There are four of them and I am asking $40 bucks for all of them.

Yeah I do. I can't really compare it to the Tacoma because it isn't a truck but the interior is head and shoulders better than the Tacoma. The wheel base is shorter which is a plus (also can be a negative), and it has a manual transfer case instead of electric which I like much better.
