So, I was insearch of 4.10 gears, however I found a 3rd from a 2006 Tundra with true Toyota LSD with 3.90 gears. I've since installed the Tundra 3rd, pretty happy with it.

    BUT!

I found a 4.10 almost complete 3rd. Only thing is it doesnt have the bell housing, just the 3rd guts

I run 255/75/17 guard dogs. Would it be worth it to build the 4.10? Or stick with the uniqueness of running a 3.9 Tundra 3rd with LSD?

I'd keep the 3.90s unless the 4.10s come with a LS.

Those tires are like 32s aren't they?

Yeah thats what I was thinking to. 32's indeed.

Im not sure about the carrier on the 4.10s the guy couldnt remember if it was e locker or not. Plus I wouldnt want to bother with that kind of swap. I'd just leave it non functional. If thats even possible to use the offroad carrier in a t100 without mods.

Yeah, you don't want to deal with that. If it was a straight bolt in 3rd maybe but you'll have to set up preload and backlash and tooth pattern... keep what you got, plenty enough for 32s anyway and decent for 33s if you ever get there.

Thats my thoughts. If it was just a diff swap, I would probably try it for a compairson in mpgs. Maybe I'll build it just to learn how.

Yeah I was looking for the shift fork but didnt know if it was inside the carrier or not.

If I dont build it I'll probably sell it since they're so hard to find. ECGS has 8 people on backorder for them. They did have a complete 3rd with 4.10s a month ago or so but they wanted 850 for it alone since its hard to get.

    Thanks for your help!
