So I picked up an f body oil pan since the truck pan is like 9in deep and won't clear the crossmembers. So the pan pick up dipstick and tube cost me 360 then I just scored an intake off a camaro for 60 bucks.. I would rather keep the truck intake since it produces more torque but the cars low profile one will pretty much solve my clearance issues but next problem will be finding headers that are going to work :/

So a bit of an update I pulled the oil pan off and I opted out of buying a new windage plate for the f body pan since I could save myself 30 buck by just chopping the one I have up

    IMG_20120407_180628_4ec2f328e6e8414c6a848003f162e3f0e45a9440.jpg

Here's a pic of it in place. In case anyone asks its there to prevent excess amounts of oil to splash up into the crank. I probably should have taken a pic of the crank n shit and show off the pistony goodness but my hands were caked in oil and stuff so I didn't wanna handle my phone more than I had to

    IMG_20120407_182322_1ebefa7bc3fea6786de6b8426adf3499916b8a13.jpg

And there's the pans side by side and how ridiculously tall the old one is compared to the f body pan

More shit coming tomorrow I'm need tostart remembering to take more pics as I go and hell no I ain't going to write a "how to swap an ls into your truck" thing cause I'm too lazy and ill be happily one of the few that have done it :D so stay tuned for anyone that cares cause I feel like I'm updating this for myself even though a bunch of you guys were bitching about updates earlier

So today was good I started off by working off all the road grime from the eng then said fuck this and grabbed the pressure washer. I knew I was going to get some water seepage past the gaskets but I was careful around the seals so I clean it all up and pull off the intake manifold and there's significantly more water then I though I got in there no biggie cleaned it all out and I started pulling the valve covers and coil packs off and decided to check under the valley pan I get all the water out and everything is good.. except for the fact I spent most of the day just cleaning the son of a bitch. So now its time to get new gaskets for the valley pan which has 2 knock sensors set in 2 tunnels with rubber grommets and they were a bit crispy and one cracked and I'm now hustling to diffferent parts stores and no one even knows what the fuck I'm talking about so I go get the pan and the gaskets and show them and they still don't know what the fuck I'm talking about and finally we find this gasket set and no one carries it and it has to be special order... fml. No pics today I had greasy as fuck handss and I'm not going to wash them ever 20 min to get some photos so ill do that when I put it back together for y'all
