Nice man!!! Everyone I have talked to has always loved their Motolite. 27.5 isn't bad at all.

I hear ya on the carbon bikes...I often go to the Santa Cruz website and oogle the carbon Nomads and Blurs. But the wife would never go for it. :argue:

If you want a nice bike, you have to get something nice for the wife. Like a matched set of CF Nomads :)

    Yeah.
Way back when, I got a Trek 930 with toe clips. I was told they helped. I tried them out at City Park and a shower came through, slick rock everywhere. Both forearms were black and blue when I got home, but that didn't stop me from ripping that shitty idea off my pedals.

    Yeah.
Haha, yeah, yesterday I blocked my calendar off for Wednesday, going to ride Chubb trail in the afternoon (I know, almost sounds gay). Best gnarly and long downhill runs in the STL area. I have GoPro vids on YouTube (MrTenBeers on YT).

I think that Specialized is their new low-cost DH/FR rig, supposed to be very reasonably priced for a bike that is well-spec'd and can handle some big stuff. I would love to have one in my stable just for fun, expect to see them as rentals at the ski resorts in the summer for sure.

Pinkbike is awesome, bought an Iron Horse 7point7, used it for a year or so and sold it to a guy in Hawaii. I miss its Cadillac smoothness, but not pedaling it up hills.

I hear ya! Also Mojo, Pivot 5.7, and Intense Carbine on the list. I need to demo both vpp and dw link to help me decide over the next year or so.

    Yeah.
DW Link and VPP are essentially the same concepts and general design, just applied with different angles, links and link lengths for different effects. Demoing both is a good idea, though, to see who applied it the best for your style of riding. I loved my Iron Horse with the DW Link, but I had a DHX 5.0 Coil on it, so probably not the same feel as an air shock. It was smooth as butter.

I took this video with the camera attached to the top tube under the seat. I expected it to be super blurry, but it came out pretty smooth. That big-ass Totem fork helped, too, I guess. http://youtu.be/mzXm12efxUo

Good rough technical stuff (steeper than it looks on video) starts at about 2:25, but the last 45 seconds is the fastest section with a shot of my base Taco at the end.

yeah decisions do suck! haha but if you can afford it i think the carbon evo might be the way to go, i didnt realize the stumpjumper was such an aggressive bike, its a sick bike for sure! i think the carbon would be good there are plenty of AM carbon bikes out there idk if the way the carbon is laid is different but i would think the strength is similar.

^^^^^^^^ What chain guide is that? I'm needing one for my 1 x 8, 34 x 11-32t bike. I first thought I could get away without needing one but the chainline when on 32t cog is at an angle where it will come off if too much torque climbing. Only happens in 1st when climbing hard but is annoying. Time to remedy it.
