Anyone else on here running loud exhaust on a 2nd gen? Ive got a single in dual out cherry bomb extreme muffler, dual 5" tips and no catalytic converters. Ive never heard another v6 tacoma sound like it or any v6 for that matter. Not annoying and raspy, just loud and deep kinda like a straight piped cummins imo.

When I had a flow master 40 series with 3 in inlet and outlet with stock piping it rumbled really nice and gave it aggressive soud instead of a rice

I don't think so, they honestly don't even check if vehicles have cats or not, I just got my inspection done last week and was out like in ten minutes I didn't even seetp them do any testing at all

I've never can cats in my entire life till this truck.. If you OBD2, you can pass emissions without them and here in AZ they don't check for cats at all.

If you are OBD1, just put a hallow pipe on there, and swap the cats back on for emissions. Take off cats once you pass and buy the 2 year so you don't have to mess with it again.

Wayyyy louder and not raspy depending on pipe size and muffler... I have headers and and a flow master 40 I hate it ... But at idle it sounds like a v8 rumblish

Basic safety check; does it stop, do all the lights work, etc., then they plug into the OBDII port and if your code free, you're good to go. If you are not OBDII, there may be a sniff test, but there is no visual check done.

Modern catalytic converters offer no restriction to teh engine. Removing them is pointless.

Apparently that isn't true, I only have a Unichip, k&n intake, and my exhaust. I have all the power i need. It has enough torque that i spin my tires leaving every red light without trying, and it hits 115 without a struggle. All of this with a 6" lift, and right now i have 33"s on 20"s. I've raced a 2010 ram 1500 Hemi 3 times and left him every time. And as for the sound, i get complements everywhere i go because you don't expect the sound to be coming from a 4.0. I love my exhaust and i'll forever be a believer in cutting the cats off if you like loudness. If your one of those people who hate loud crap this thread isn't for you.

You guys against cats for whatever reason have every right as an american to stand by that. But i'm in high school still and i exercise my right to disturb the peace with loud exhaust, loud music, and black marks on pavement wherever i want to leave them. :burnrubber:

Having no cats makes it black smoke, excess fuel burning off. I like it
