You guys are crazy! mud!

 

I ran 285/75/16's with a 2.5" spacer up front and stock back for a while. You will have the bro lean though. You will just need to trim the plastics a little, but if you are gonna wheel you need to do the cab mount chop cause you will rub @ full lock. I ended up getting a set of stock leaf's with the Icon 3 leaf aal from Eddie (Special K) which has me almost level (maybe 1/2" lower in back) I am now running the same set up as you up front -5100's W/885's with Light Racing UCA's.

I ordered plates from BAMF and already chopped the cab mounts.....just need to get some help from someone that knows how to weld!

Are you talking about wheel spacers or you had 2.5" blocks? I dont want to put wheel spacers on my truck, and I read that 285's will rub on the stock UCA. Did your have stock UCA and did they rub?

 

Yea it was a good run! We only went to the Helopad, didn't feel like going all the way, there were a few sketch spots where I almost got stuck just getting to the helopad, and I remember it just gets worse after that. But all in all a fun time! Good meeting you too Ben! Will Def have to do it again!

 

I had 2.5" spacer lift (about the same height as 5100's w/885 coils) but had after market wheels. You will have to run wheel spacers if you are going to run oem wheels wtih 285's or the tires will rub stock UCA's. You should be able to pick up a set of wheel spacers on TW in B/S/T for fairly cheap...like 50 bucks.

Damn I was hoping 285's wouldn't rub. Looks like plans have changed. Time to save up for wheels too. Oh well, had to be done eventually. Hopefully I can save enough money before the current tires are gone. Thanks for the help

 

come on! I had a few exposed wires under the truck from where the sliders cut them and I taped them as a temp fix. Believe you me I wanted to get down and dirty. I was practicing self-control. It's not like this is the UG. Haha.

Just buy the wheel spacers on the cheap and get the 285's. Then save $ and get the wheels you want. Sell your oem wheels & resell the spacers and for what you paid for them. I think that's why there are always wheel spacers for sale on TW...everyone's in the same boat...gotta do a little bit at a time.
