Gas in the US averaged $1.84 a gallon in January 2009 when the current president took occupancy of the white house.

not propaganda...not posting supporting a political agenda.

    jus sayin

Note the "adjusted for inflation" line... not just the actual price, which is not a true reflection of the cost.
Note also that both the lowest prices in recent history were PRIOR to January 20, 2009 ;)

No more or less convenient than the original post that chose a date from July 2008 during an all-time peak, and a few days ago, coming off of a recent peak.

How about comparing to April 2008? Or even better... April 2007 or April 2003 (similar timeframes for the respective presidential terms).

Fact is the POTUS has pretty much no direct control over gas prices.
It's a global economy and we're no longer isolationists.

If you buy into this, you have no sense at all. Do you realize that this is just a few months after the biggest gas spike in history?
I can't believe that people are still posting this crap without looking into it.
THIS IS THE REASON THAT THE GAS PRICES WERE THAT CHEAP FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS: SO THAT MORONS WOULD POST IT A FEW YEARS LATER.

    Yeah that would fuckin such.
Its still $3.89 From what I have read in the news that pops up on my phone, "analysts" are saying that the gas prices have peaked this year. Ha I'll believe that when I see it.

They raise it as high as they can, then when people start complaining too loudly they say " oh it's leveling off now".

actually, I don't "buy into" much.

I posted that date in respond to the other dates [July 2008 - April 2012] as a point.

Cherry picking only provides red hands and a sweet tooth. :D

    see my post above.

And notice the drop in the fall of 2004 (although not as significant)...just like the fall of 2008.

A good bet would be, there will be a drop this fall as well.

I believe one can make their own reasoning.

The first date I "randomly picked" was the highest average gas price on record in the United States. The second was the most recently published average gas price.

I think your first sentence is incorrect.

Shit, I don't blame GWB for high gas prices back then, and I don't blame our current POTUS for high gas prices now. That is all I'm saying.
