Ya i think we had the little one with us day and he decided we were done a little early if you know how that goes...

On a side note my winch is on the way! Went with a Smittybilt 98281 XRC-8 Comp-Series which comes with a synthetic line. For the price it will work until I get a better one and pass this down to my future beater build.

I am also confident I will be re-gearing in the next 3 weeks. Anyone reading this know about 3rd member swaps? Is it any more complicated than following the directions on any one of the detailed "how to" threads on TW? I would think since the built 3rd with an ARB and 4.56 gears was pulled in working order it should essentially be "plug n play" with my open diff (obviously no 4x4).

I don't need to have the backlash or whatever else adjusted all over again do I?

 

Mmmmm... sounds fun. I am looking to swap my 5100's for OME 182's as well. I'd be glad to offer any kind of help for whatever you gentlemen need to install.

 

I'll end up doing them the day I install my new front and rear diffs. I've been sitting on them since October i think.

I taped just as shown and sprayed it just like that. Remove the newspaper and then the tape. You should then be left with a clean rectangle of thick over-spray and your letters. Just peel/pull from a corner of the derp rectangle and it will release off the paint and pull cleanly away from the letters leaving them covered in derp.

Thanks! I am quite impressed with Demello's work and will definitely consider them for future purchases.

I recently sold my Snug Top but I had a Rebel. It fit very well and the mounting hardware just used the bed rail channels to mount in. Very strong.

The snorkel really only added ~1mpg if that and I only saw a greater increase at speeds of 30+ it seemed. The additional benefits of cooler/cleaner air plus keeping your engine fed with oxygen when dunked truly out way any potentially minimal MPG increase. Needless to say if any of us were really that concerned with MPG we would have bought something else.



I recently re-geared to 4.56 front and rear and added a rear ARB air locker. This is hands down the best purchase I've made for my truck. All the power I lost from a lift, tires, winch (synth) and armor is back and then some. I am also adding a Relentless IFS skid in the next week or two as well.

Contemplating MOAB too.....

That's awesome! So for a Tacoma do you get it for just the rear or can you get it for the front too? And what does the compressor do?

 

You can do rear, or both

 

I also have demello OR front bumper, should be on the way shortly, it's still being built. The ACRO lights are they fog lights or driving lights? How was the install and what part number did you end up getting?

 

They are fogs and the install was cake. I do not have a part number as I simply ordered them through the group buy. I installed them while my bumper was on the truck and it was easy minus a few awkward angles.

I did have to cut the old wiring harness off the stock wiring and install the waterproof proprietary ACRO harness which with even minimal wire stripping skills was quick and easy per side.

They are incredibly bright and are solid. I have some yellow laminex that I am going to layer on eventually but haven't had the motivation lately.

On a side note I forgot I also had a N-Fab tire carrier being drop shipped from N-Fab that should be here any day. Can't wait!
