Most likely, nothing. Toyota typically has a 6 year life cycle on it's models so, using that, there probably won't be a new one until at least 2011.

If they only produce trucks with stick shift, I think Toyota would loose alot of money.

Sooooo, they'll get rid of the manual and keep what "suck's ass"? Is this straight from Toyota HQ?

Will they just go to a single speed then?

No speeds at all just neutral. Push it to wherever you want to go.

I typed it wrong, meant to say they will be getting rid of the auto cause the autos suck

I have own both the auto and now I own the 6-speed and the auto is def a better tranny. I typically like manuals but not a big fan of the 6 speed in my truck. Toyota you dropped the ball on this one!

I was told by the dealer yesterday that the Tacoma wouldn't change until at least 2010, but most likely 2012. Don't know how accurate that may be, but they usually do 6 year life cycle before major changes. Also, if they did it any sooner, it would lose money for them in the manufacturing cost/profit ratio.

The stealer is the absolute worse source for this info. They never want you to know if there are changes coming in the next model year, they don't want you to wait to buy one, they want you to buy now

I think they should add the "tan" that is on the FJ cruiser, and add some kind of racing orange or green.

Personally, I'm hoping they make some small upgrades that we can make use of with little customization like power/adjustable seats, integrated signals in the side mirrors, etc. Keeps the factory look but makes it better.

Every car and truck I've owned up to this point have been standard transmissions. I had an old vett and the clutch was so hard to push in that after sitting in Dallas traffic, I'd get home and my leg would be shaking. This tacoma automatic is pure heaven to me.
