OME axle shim confusion!

So I just received my complete OME lift kit from toytec, very pumped. But after taking everything out of the boxes I noticed something about the axle shims. Now I may just be confused but either I got the wrong shims or they are a new design. These dont seem to fit over the center pin, unless i completley remove the center pin and sandwich it in between. ANY help would be great!

 

Drill them out.

You need centre pin collars to extend the pin so the axle shims will work , let me find you the thread

 

Literally out of the box and I need to drill them out? They look different than the others I have seen on TW

OP , do the heads of the centre pins fit through the shims ?

 

Negative, the center pin itself does, but the head doesnt, it can sit however in machined out groove on top... Hold a sec for pics

 

Put a C clamp on the leaf pack , take out the centre pin and reinstall through the axle shim .

The head needs to stick out below the shim to engage into the rear axle

 

As you can see, I was sent extra center pins( not sure why). And you can see if they were installed within the leaf they would work, but dont fit over the bolt pin head.

 

If I recall correctly - when I tried to use the Toytec shims, I found as you have that the hole was too small so I needed to overdrill the existing hole in the shims for the larger pin assembly on the Dakar leaf pack.

EDIT - NO - with replacement leaf pack pin provided, use it and add the shim to the leaf pack itself.

 

maybe its just me but the shims look different then everyone elses

Ah - but that replacement bolt pin head WILL fit in your spring perch right?

Regular cabs don't have a carrier bearing at all.

Woah I was just looking at your OME DIY.. You have sway bar relocates?? do you need those with the OME. Mine kit didnt include them.

 

They are an easy add later if it turns out the sway bar is hitting the spring perch.
