    Can you still get to Lusardi Truck Trail from Pamo valley? I think you can get to if from the forest rd. thats about halfway thru the valley, the original route all the way thru the valley im pretty sure is closed off. That is a good run from there through Mesa Grande and into Lake Henshaw

    Yeah you can get to Lasardi TT from Pamo Valley. Lasardi does dead end with a huge gate though. Not sure if Black Mountain trail goes through up to Henshaw. I have only been up there once by myself (with the kids) and did not want to chance getting stuck out there to far with them.

    Thats what I thought, bummer. Back in the 80's and 90's when Ray Foster (Foster Ranch) was around we would get tresspass permits to hunt the valley and we could go all the way thru at the end of Pamo rd where it dead ends at the houses. That was a really nice run and seldom traveled so it got pretty challenging at times. It came out on top of the hill on Lusardi past where the current gate is.

    The valley up there is awesome. From the only time I was up there it looked as if it still gets very little travel. I would like to go back up there with some others to do Black Mountain/Upper Cuyamaca(?). I think some of the trails were closed for a while due to the fires a few years ago but are now reopened.

    The Holy Graill of east county trails , the Tule Springs TT, back in the 1960's into the 70's you could enter this mega mile trail from at least 3 directions, from the north down past Eagle Peak Ranch thru the fire break road (steep & rutted as hell) off of Boulder creek rd connecting with the Cedar creek/Devils punch bowl trail (also steep as hell), or off of the Barona Indian Reservation (longer route, easier drive, pass thru a few gates & a bunch of trails off the main trail)

    I was reently out past Eagle Peak and the gate going into Boulder Creek was open, not sure if thats a permanant thing. I think you can still get by going via the punch bowl route by going in on Cathedral way at the back of the Country Estates

    CDF just re opened public access to Cedar Creek /Punch bowl a couple weeks ago , its been closed since that kid splattered himself & died last year, as far as vehicle access I remember driving to within a 100 ft or so & you could just get out & jump in the water....
