Hardware for the Avid Off-Road Light Bar

I just got the light bar X-Lined and was wondering what type of hardware people have used for installation.

Any suggestions?

 

No Hardware Needed for Install.
Remove Four Nuts (Two of Three on Each Side)
Holding the Tubular Aluminum Bumper to the Frame.
Slide Light Bar Onto Studs and Replace Nuts
42 ft/lb of Torque on Nuts
Two People is Best
Remove Grill to Access Nuts from Above
15 to 30 Minutes

 

Does this installation apply to 2012 Tacomas as well? Also, does anyone know if the Avid Light bars and Sliders come powdercoated black from the Avid warehouse?

 

light bars use existing bolts already on the front. Just take off the nuts, slide on, and re-tighten. I recommended grabbing a friend cause it's not very easy to hold up yourself and tighten the bolts. weighs like 35-40lbs. I reached underneath the bumper and did not have to remove the grill.

sliders and light bar come raw steel. no paint, primer or powder coating. I used acetone to clean, sanded 320 grit, primer 2 coats and painted with Duplicolor Toyota Black.

I've located the bolts for the lightbar, but I'm a little unsure of where the holes are for the sliders. I see that Brandon states no drilling is required for the bolt ons, but I am not positive where it would actually bolt on to the frame. Does anyone have a picture of the sliders bolt on locations?

I just order both the lightbar and the sliders. And for a fact I am pretty sure that the sliders bolt to the side steps holes(if you were to install running boards)

Correct me if I am wrong.

Also not to thread jack but I ordered a light bar today as well and is it still possible to put the light bar on without taking the grille out since I have a aftermarket grille that was a pain to get in.

Pictures in a grille thread somewhere around here I will edit when I find them.

 

You can install without removing the grille, yes.

Ok, I think I found them. If the bolt on sliders do attach the same way side steps or nerf bars would attach, It looks like we have to remove 6 ea (3 sets of 2 per side) of the "factory installed plugs" with a flat head screwdriver. Then the sliders have 6 holes to bolt to. Can someone confirm that, or correct me!?!

Just ordered the Avid Front Light Bar, and Bolt On Sliders. Should be here in about 3 weeks. Looks like an easy install. Plan on painting them myself. I'll post up a couple pics when I'm finished. Cant wait!!!!

 

Just installed! Ordering Lights next - most likely Hella Blackouts.

 

Received my sliders and light bar last week, my light bar is getting colour matched atm and my sliders will hopefully be painted by the end of the week if I have time.

we run a blackout light on our work trucks for sneaking around at night

Yeah I meant black magics. I have to double check the size and fit though, I'm installing in between the 2 bars next to my license plate.

 

They Look a little small. How is the light output??
