My 1st Tat

well i am turning 18 next month and i am getting a tattoo for my bday present. i am getting it going down my ribs. i want it to be a cool quote but im thinking about this one.


"I take 3 L's to the head
Love, Live, Life and then I'm dead."

Can some one make it into a cool font for me please so i can see if I like it

 

u should get the toyota symbol right in the middle of ur chest

Live and life? That's like saying for breakfast I like 3 things. Eggs bacon and animal parts.

 

like draw it out and scan on the computer maybe or just type it and make it look cool

Getting the tattoo on your ribs is gonna be extremely painful good luck, my first tat i got running down the middle of my spine and it was pretty painful so good luck man...

I agree but tattoo arent meant for other people they are meant for the person that has them. If it means something to him thats really all that matters. My advice to him is just make sure its really something you love bc it will be on your body for the rest of your life. To me my tattoo holds great meaning but to someone who see's it they might think its dumb but i got my tattoo for me not them...

What kind of font are you thinking?? Graffitti...latin....old english formal....something modern??


And +1 to ignoring what everyone else thinks....Tattoos in general are for you....not for others. Rib tattoos are the most personal...so if it makes you happy man...GO FOR IT!!

damn, i got a warning for saying that as a general statement and you single out and call someone a weiner. You might be fined.

 

+1...Your artist will have a book of fonts they tend to use...or you can bring an example of something you draw/find on the internet to them and work with them to get what you want.

That's going to be your best bet. If you bring in hand-drawn stuff from another artist...IT may turn off your guy. Work with him to get what you want!!

(Just my $.02- I've drawn all 4 of my tattoos and then refined the ideas with the artists who have done them...)

Secondly, think very hard before you get it. I'm not saying you wont love it forever but just make sure you can see it being on you for the rest of your life.

Also consider placement. i prefer to put my tats in places that wont get....."soft" later. I use to be your age once and there wasn't a soft spot on my body (except my head, that soft spot never did go away...) and a tat on my ribs would have looked great. but with college and age and metabolism changes etc... you wanna make sure its not on a place where half of it will be hidden in a roll when your 30. upper back, shoulders, arms, legs, those are "safer" places. but its your body and your choice.

As for the ribs, i got my sister a tat for her 18th. she got a huge celtic cross on her ribs under her arms. she is tough as nails but was near tears the whole time. but she was a trooper and never cried or made him stop. if she can take it you can too, but i'm warning you that its one of the most painful places to get ink. at least yours doesn't sound as big or complex as hers.
