I like both and I can make either work.
Never intend to sell so I want a truck I can keep going for decades.

    Your right.
Not logical but I happen to prefer Silverado and Tacomas.

After having my Taco for 6 months I'm completely over it. This is partly the local dealership's fault. I put Toytec springs with 5100's set at zero and it was all down hill from there. Got a bad vibration, turned out to be my front diff bearing at 26k, happened immediately after the springs. After a month of complaining it finally gets replaced. The dealer did something the truck now vibrates worse and it's no longer the front diff bearing. They say its a normal vibration for Nitto Terra Grapplers size 265/70R17. I run a small business called www.pacificwheel.com and happen to know that it's def not the tires. Now the dealer says it's a drive line issue. Tried telling them that front springs couldn't cause a rear drive line problem. Dealer charges $97 to diagnose nothing. To date it's been to the dealer 7 times in 6 months. This truck has cost me a lot of time and a fair amount of money. We have a 10" CST lift on our 2007 Duramax with 38's and it's problem free and it has a lot more miles than my taco. The lift has been on since day one. All we've done is re-torque the lift and... no vibrations.

All I ever see is people making excuses for Toyota talking about you just need to do this, you just need to do that... It's effing brand new truck!!! I shouldn't have to do anything!! And I acknowledge that maybe mines a lemon but IMO the second gen Tacoma hasn't been nearly as reliable as the first gen. So eff you Toyota!!! I'm trading/selling it ASAP.
    So I say Silverado FTMFW

Well suck my balls with a shop vac. You are most right. Badass. That must make for some flexing issues though me-thinks.

Taco hands down then. Too much shit breaking on our E-3500 diesels to be worth the hassle.

I work at a dealership in the used car/reconditioning shop. I see/work on many different brands of cars/trucks. I don't have to put much work into any of the Toyota cars or trucks that come in to get them ready for sale. But bring in a Chevy/GMC truck and I regularly have to replace wheel bearings, front axle seals, tie rod ends, rear main seals, water pumps, intake gaskets, and power steering pumps, not to mention all the maintenance stuff. But with the toyotas, I change the oil and filters and that's it.

Just what I've seen personally. Not to say that all Chevy trucks will have these problems, but they do seem to come up a lot.

Good luck with your choice. I hope it's a Toyota!!!

I, myself, work at a car dealership too. I have to say that same thing seems to prominent at our dealership as well, but even more so with dodges and chryslers. Our techs actually appreciate all the dodges/chrylsers we get in, because they make so much money on them doing repairs! Hell, we aren't even a Dodge dealership, but I constantly refer to one of our techs as MOPAR man, because that is all that is ever in his bay. Since I became an avid toyota fan, i have yet to take one of my vehicles in there and get more than an oil change or tire rotate done.

I'd agree with ya there. My dad has a '10 ? F-150, pretty basic, extended cab 4wd, but I do enjoy driving it. Even the base model is a very smooth ride and handles great. Gets the same mileage as my v6 tacoma too!

    Negative. C-Channel.

But no one that I know of has busted one yet. And some of these guys really throw their trucks around.

they ok. i hate the ’11 f 150 haed lights. low beam is maybe between just having my fogs on and my low beams. high beams are literally like my low beam!!! my brother silverado's low beams are brighter. than the ’11 F150’s

I agree. I don't really like working on Toyotas cause I don't make many labor hours working on them. As a matter of fact I made 25 hours putting a motor and a bunch of other stuff on an 08 Chevy Malibu this week. :woot:

maybe. but when you are on a road the is not very wide back road that has allot of deer on it. you like to have light so you can see them. other than that they are pretty nice. big and wide/tall but nice.
